Unbelievably unorganized, sorely lacking in so many areas...

Former Employee - Supervisory in Jacksonville, FL

    I worked at NGA HR

    Pros

The only thing even remotely close to a pro is reasonable starting salary range.

    Cons

Insanely unorganized, cannot even provide reasonable or somewhat comfortable physical working accommodations, old, worn and broken chairs etc. Lockdown on majority of basic supplies like paper, pens, stapler. Employees have to scavenge for everything. You are told to look through open cubicles for the most basic needs to be functional. Or, many employees are advised by their peers to supply your own.

New projects require time commitments well above and beyond what should be a normal expectation. Working 6-7 days per week, in excess of 15 hours per day for extended periods of time is REQUIRED.

There is absolutely NO training. You are advised to just "read" all the corporate documentation on the intranet, which can be confusing and difficult to navigate.

Effective communication and interactive structure between departments is lacking, if non-existent in some instances. Critical projects frequently "fall apart", and send team members scrambling to try to repair the damage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A complete overhaul is needed in numerous areas. Learn to truly value your employees, at every level. Take measures to repair and improve upon corporate structures. Remember, actions speak louder than words.

I worked at NGA HR full-time

    Pros

Resources are mostly hard workers. Good amount of time-off days (no sick days and holidays are a few).

    Cons

It's who you know. Unequal opportunities (pay and promotion; HR doesn't do anything about it). Many layoffs in US and others who remain have to pick up work. Lack of annual increases. People are put in leadership who are clueless. Secret bonus to select people. Just a lot of under the rug stuff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start over with the leadership team and HR should be more involved.

    Pros

None at the rate this company is going.

    Cons

Toxic people in Management positions driving employees to quit or go out on medical leaves. Leaving us behind when we already are working 18 hour days!! Contradicting priorities not just daily but hourly. Inadequate tools to do job. Roll out products and new processes without planning or knowledge of current to enable success. Set up for failure. Told not to work as team with others in their roles, yet that is key to successful process. Throw over the wall to a barely warm body mentality. No reprimands from Senior management OR HR for Management treating people with disrespect, cursing or yelling in front of peers. This is a HR company? Hardly. Lead by example, period.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take the actions you know should be taken rather than stick head in the sand. It will come back around and you will have no one left.
