I have been working at NHS full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Working as a team.Made to feel you matter and important

    Cons

The training have to have year after year wastes alot of money. As already done it then have to repeate it spending alpt of days sat in a room.very pointless.no xmas bonus.thank you card nothing

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

do short 30min refreshers.stop employing bank staff and take on whats needed to have enough staff to work effectively that will get the job done safety, not people who only work when feel like it and result in alot of short staffed days.pay bonus for xmas is a must you need to look at.

I have been working at NHS full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Job stability. Sometimes it can be very rewarding. Work with a huge number of people. Variability of working life and patients encountered.

    Cons

Stressful and demanding both in and out of work. Long hours (that are often not compensated). Often feel undervalued. Highly competitive for advancement in specialty (depending on the specialty).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Avoid the need for locum staff by hiring more permanent doctors in the first place. You may find that suddenly a lot fewer sick days are taken, and staff morale is higher. Surely it would also be a lot more cost effective than the amount of money spent on locum doctors?
