    Pros

The people are excellent, super smart and very driven. Incredibly hard workers who are all business on the outside, but kind and considerate on the inside. The corporate brand is very strong and no doubt a leader in the industry. There is an energetic dynamic across the organization and it's clear they're continuing to grow strongly. A stable environment with few layoffs and reasonably fair employee treatment

    Cons

Rather than allowing the region more leeway in decision making, the HQ is adding more and more layers of approvals necessary to get things done. It slows things down tremendously and dis-empowers local leadership. It's a highly matrixed organization and often it is unclear how to navigate the bureaucracy to get what you need to get done, done.

    Advice to Management

Make it easier to do business and everyone, (including clients) would be more successful.

I worked at NICE Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Pay was above average and plenty of overtime. - Colleagues were great to work with daily.

    Cons

    - Management in Denver is clueless. - All strings are pulled in Israel. - Product is not tested well, and this burdens support teams. - Support model is shifting to all-Indian teams overseas. - The support teams in the Americas continue to lose great engineers - no relief for those who stay - the workload gets larger.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time developing the product and hire more support staff in the AMERICAS! Shipping support to India is ridiculous. It is clear that phone recording works, but the analytics piece is flawed. Get back to what you are great at and stick to recording. And you may try and appreciate your support teams in the Americas.

I have been working at NICE Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

My immediate team is great. Pay is competitive and the benefits are actually quite good.

    Cons

Very little active and cohesive management, day-to-day or on a longer term basis. Inconsistent track record for M&As. Some have done well, most have not. Most of the products are using antiquated technology. They've been promising for years to create a "Platform" for the suite to use. Still waiting.

    Advice to Management

The board needs to recognize that senior management simply does not have the experience or expertise to lead a $1b company. Get some adults to run this company and you would TRULY have a winner.

I worked at NICE Systems (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Some decent people there, as with any company. Telecommute options for field people. Option to basically run amok and if you're good of course you won't do that, but very much a ask for forgiveness rather than permission type of organization.

    Cons

As the title says, a meat grinder. If you have skills they'll burn you out. Virtually no work like balance. The culture has always been that if you don't work through your evenings you're looked upon with disdain. Very limited upward mobility options. Management is in constant upheaval, very little communication or cooperation between departments, divisions, and companies. Very political and cut throat culture. Far too financially driven with lip service to those things that matter to customers and the market (service, product stability, responsive and efficient support, etc.).

    Advice to Management

Focus on the customer, really embrace work life balance.

I worked at NICE Systems full-time

    Pros

The people I worked with day to day were generally super nice and helpful. Mostly kept to themselves but were very willing to help and answer questions to help you ramp up or address any issues. Basically let you work from home whenever you want as long as you get your work done.

    Cons

I don't think there is a lot of knowledge share between different parts of the company and morale is generally low (where I was at least). Didn't seem like product improvements were coming by as quickly as they could be and people didn't seem excited about what they were working on.

    Advice to Management

I think the product have potential to be great, but relying on the product as is and not continually making good improvements will only get people so far and marginally motivated.

I have been working at NICE Systems full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great people in my dept, solid company, home office

    Cons

Constant reorgs every year, poor opportunities for women to advance with the good ole boys network in full swing, bad communication from mgmt.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within. Stop expecting employees to give 150% loyalty when you give us none.
