Pros
Nike has generous paid time off.
Cons
Terrible managers. Nike does not promote well from its ranks, and hires just as badly outside the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Try promoting people who do their jobs well instead of the people who kissed your ass.
Pros
Great sports culture and work site
Cons
Too much focus on "personal press" of employees
Advice to Senior Management
As you roll out organizational changes, invest to make changes effective upfront rather than as a last resort.
Pros
great place to learn and throw all your energy. it is a great place to start your career. Would recommend it.
Cons
Not the most structured company of all and remuneration is among the average in the industry. Rellocation is needed in case you want to advance.
Advice to Senior Management
great company to work for. True inspiration in essence and nature of the company. Best place I have work so far.
Pros
The benefeits are the biggest Pro. Access to exclusive nike product and facilities including: a private store, a private gym, campus events and activities along with great medical benefits as well
Cons
They do not have the most competitive salaries. The hiring process is often lengthy. very competitive work place even after being hired
Pros
Great opportunity for whatever you make out of it.
Cons
rumors of politics but no worries if you know how to play it/rise above it/ do your thang!!!
Advice to Senior Management
Great Job!!! But, when new store managers come around and want to downsize.... beware, however great you do at your job, you are just a number to them.
Pros
Advancement - I got lucky and applied at a new store, so everyone is starting on the same level. Work hard
Cons
Pay - I thought it would be a little better, but i guess thats what you get when you work retail.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep doing what your good at.. look after your employees and you can expect the same in return.. overall impressed.
Pros
Work Life Balance
Connection to the brand
Growth opportunities and lateral movement
Work environment and perks
Innovative and creative environment
Cons
Very matrixed environment makes it hard to get work done efficiently
There are some cases of 'good 'ol boy' network
Pros
The culture is fun and relaxed
You are working with some of the coolest products on the planet
The dress code is casual (Wear shorts and t-shirts to work)
Cons
I really cannot think of any cons about working for Nike. Like any other publicly traded company it has some challenges but they are nothing that you would not see anywhere else.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep doing what you guys are doing, the company is thriving in a challenging economy.
Pros
Fabulous campus and environment
Great product to be proud of as an employee
Solid leader in Mark Parker
Cons
Long work days, overabundance of consultants who later become leaders who are not effective managers with no people skills. You are a number at NIKE. Talk work/life balance but it does not exisit at least in the part of the organization where I worked.
Advice to Senior Management
Offer more leadership training. Feel sorry for the HR organization. They are way short handed.
Pros
The shoes are awsome and it was great being able to know all the new releases and having the chance to buy them first.
Cons
Childish coworkers, some very polite other very immature but it was a majority of them. Overall it was an ok job.
Advice to Senior Management
Management is great sometimes there were so many you don't know who to go to one person would tell you one thing the other another and caused problems and confusion.
