I have been working at NIKE (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - The discount is amazing at 40% - Fun co-workers, everyone is outgoing for the most part - Upbeat environment - Provided staff uniform for work - External events and opportunities - Notable people come in all the time to make connections

    Cons

They expect for you to give top notch service, which is fine. The issue is we rely almost solely on technology and when technology doesn't work, our business doesn't work and then customers get mad at you and then it just sucks. There are some really awesome leaders who care about you growing and are there to help shape you to become a better worker but some are just there to boss you around. But I suppose that is with any job.

    Pros

Flexible scheduling, Nice discount, Refreshed floor displays, Bonuses, Strong salary. the people that work there come from different walks of life.

    Cons

I feel that nike is starting to lose its vision. in part to thirst to retain its position at the top. Quality over quantity. Rather keep quality and quanity at a premium level.

I worked at NIKE part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nike holds a lot of events which employees can be a part of, room for growth and development depending how you apply yourself. Meet many great people as well. Benefits are good, if your are full time.

    Cons

Pay is average, not outstanding considering its a huge company. Hours are hard to come by, based on business needs. Use to be fun to work for, parties, employee events, better perks but have noticed a decline in "employee appreciation".

I have been working at NIKE part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Awesome team based environment, Coaches(Managers) really want athletes(store-associates) to strive for success, Discounts, Sports environment.

    Cons

Upward mobility is similar to running for office.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!

I have been working at NIKE part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The discount would the the first pro. This is my first retail job and I have gained a lot of experience working here at Niketown.

    Cons

Sometimes it's hard to move up if someone doesn't quit, move up, or get fired. Most of the time you tend to get stuck depending on what you want to achieve in the company.

    Advice to Management

Be more considerate on a persons work value instead of how they answer questions in an interview.

I have been working at NIKE part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It was a great a place to work, I learned a lot about sneakers and work out gears. It was fun when it was not overly crowded. Management would work with your schedule which is great if you are in school or have another job.

    Cons

Customers would be very impatient especially when each athlete had to juggle between 5-8 customers per person. Hours were crappy at times and the ability to move up in the company is a nightmare.

I have been working at NIKE full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nike Inc is a great company to work for sports apparel retail & fashion, but Converse doesn't get as many resources.

    Cons

    Room for growth for employees

    Advice to Management

Share positive and constructive feedback to employees

  11. Best Coworkers I've ever Had, =Nike Family

I have been working at NIKE full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nike has been one of the best retail jobs I've ever had. I've been fortunate to have been employed here for the last 4 years working in 2 types of stores; flagship and brand experience. Nike offers competitive pay, tuition reimbursement for Full time employees pursuing a degree related to Nike Business ex: Business, Marketing, Design etc. Excellent coworkers, Excellent discount, Uniform provided up to 3x a year.

    Cons

There is a bit too much of trial and error, sometimes the management lacks consistency. If you're not overly enthusiastic its sometimes viewed as negative. They expect a lot of the employees to mirror in personality even if its not an employee's temperament. For example someone who is viewed as having a "better" personality will get a promotion over someone who works hard. In addition hours are sometimes scarce if you're not part time over, or full time.

    Advice to Management

I think the application process needs to be modified, especially for internal candidates. There are some individuals who are modest when selling themselves, however their worth ethic demonstrates something more substantial than anything they could put into words about themselves.
