    Pros

Passion for sports. Like extremely competitive environment - inside and out.

    Cons

To be the best takes dedication.

    Advice to Management

None. Judging senior management in an open forum is, in my opinion, not the right thing to do.

    Pros

The work Life balance is incredible. Nike also has a VERY open door policy. The upper leadership is interested in your success and willing to take time to sit down and talk about your goals. The pride people feel working for Nike is unprecedented.

    Cons

The pay is far below industry standards and it can be difficult to get dicisions made. If you are a type A personality it can be frustrating. The motto just do it often spills into the dicision making process and can leave a mess to fix later.

    Advice to Management

Get a bit more organized. Just do it should not apply to all business practices.

    Pros

Nike is a great place for a self-motivated, intelligent individual to establish a career. While salaries are a bit lackluster in the lower ranks, "total compensation", including benefits, are second to none. Career advancement is readily available to those who actively seek it and career exploration is highly encouraged. Working on high visibility projects and popular product is highly rewarding.

    Cons

Nike is a large corporation. As such it is extremely easy for coworkers, including managers, to "go with the flow" and ride the paycheck express. This can be extremely frustrating to those who are motivated, dedicated and loyal to the company. The bureaucracy of business can be difficult to deal with at times. Human resources and management can be a bit too "politically correct" at times and lack strength in dealing with lackluster employee performance for the sake of "fairness and respect".

    Advice to Management

Improve communication of company direction and "big picture" to all employees. Do not treat employees at the bottom of the pay scale as a commodity because they turn the cogs that run the machine. Be wary of the company becoming too top heavy with directors and avoid unnecessary layers of management. Avoid large capital expenditures while eliminating positions that offset work to other employees. They will feel under compensated and over worked.

Nike is a great place to work and a great global company. If you like sports and contemporary culture you will like Nike. One of the best things about Nike is that you get to work with truly dedicated people from all atound the world. The compensation and benefits are excellent. Diversity is honored and nurtured. Nike is a prideful culture.

    Cons

Lots of focus on communications which is good. However, style sometimes is valued more than content.
