    Pros

NPD has a monopoly on point-of-sale data in the categories it tracks, which makes renewals and up sells easy. Clients are generally very good to work with.

    Cons

I was a long-time employee and the company was well run. The last few years it changes direction every year! A number of employees (up through VP level) are fired and the direction changes again. Clients' trust is slipping as NPD flounders looking for a direction

    Advice to Management

Change just for change sake is counterproductive. Stick with a strategy for more than a year to see if it proves itself. All the change creates headaches for clients as well as employees and makes NPD look like it doesn't know what direction it's going.

    Pros

Nice people, good work / life balance, solid research methodologies, not overly revenue aggressive, many opportunities for training, small office environment, privately held company

    Cons

Slow to change, upper management disconnected, lower payscale, limited upward mobility, ineffective human resources, small office environment, privately held company

    Advice to Management

Find more genuine ways to connect with employees and give them a voice. Embrace change and develop more aggressive, faster responses to competitive threats.

Good benefits, summer hours, can work from home

    Cons

Company is trying to redefine itself and seems to be struggling to do so. Used to have more of a family feel but that is being lost as it tries to grow bigger.

    Pros

Work life balance is usually good. Casual dress code as of 2013.

    Cons

Little opportunity for advancement due to the small nature of the particular division. NPD Corporate has really no idea what this division does or how it functions because it's data source is different than every other division in the company.
