I worked at NPD full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Work / Life balance is a very strong benefit of working in one of the satellite offices. As a whole, the company is very supportive of continued education (once you get through the rigorous application process)

    Cons

    1) Employees in the satellite offices are commonly overlooked for advancement/movement into other parts of the organization. 2) Compensation disparity was significant and worsened over the time spent in the role.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward continuous improvement, foster personal growth and find ways to keep top performers instead of considering replacement a cost saving solution.

I worked at NPD full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Lots of development and growth 15 years ago. Lots of internal training offered, approachable managers, encouragement to be empowered and move around the company.

    Cons

Cant get themselves in current times, to much change without fully thinking things through. Lots of guess work for senior level. Change is great but need to think it through first.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work-life balance used to be much better for employees. Need a better handle on senior management and how they handle letting people go. I was let go on false reasons after being promoted, receiving above company average increases, after above average reviews. So why not offer me to move to different division or give me time to prepare, after 15+ years i deserve better.

    Pros

Welcoming company culture and great work life balance. Leadership is transparent and employees are kept up-to-speed on performance and outlook.

    Cons

Employee appreciation is sometimes overlooked by senior management. There is also limited room for upward advancement in certain areas of the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue transparent leadership. Try to be more active in acknowledging employees and letting them know they are appreciated. Continue to be forward-thinking in research techniques and applications.

    I worked at NPD full-time

    Pros

You will have plenty of free time. It is in Boulder so if you live there it is easy to get to. Free covered parking.

    Cons

The building is poorly maintained. The technology is 15 years old with no signs of improvement. There is no teamwork only loners. The evaluation process is solely based on subjective opinions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is time to upgrade the technology and the culture.
