I worked at NSHE (Nevada System of Higher Education) as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

The best thing about this job is that it is a state job, therefore the employees are compensated well.

    Cons

The company is run by the education board NSHE. There is a lot of politics within the school board and money issues so furloughs are common.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give your employees more of a reason to stay.

I have been working at NSHE (Nevada System of Higher Education) full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

pretty good environment in my division right now. people passionate about their work

    Cons

a lot of state worker mentality. we are good. we could be great. we also have some unaffective people here, because it's a state system. But overall, not a surprise considering you'd know that coming in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We are good. We could be great. Need to value people "in the field" more.
