DOCOMO for foreigns

Former

Pros – You get a chance to do some really interesting things, globally

Cons – A glass ceiling will stop you from moving upward in the company, it's really difficult to move up, if you're not a Japanese national.

Advice to Senior Management – Should start valuing diversity if you guys want to be successful abroad...

IT Review

Former

Pros – Talented team of resources supporting various departments. IT/ERP application has been leveraged fully to automate process as much as possible. A nice and decent company to work for. As an outside contractor reaching the client team even though they are remotely located was never a problem. A rule book following culture.

Cons – Most of the planning for IT is done in adhoc basis. New versions of application and fuller utilization of all features of various tools was not done consistently.

Advice to Senior Management – None

satisfied with my intern experience

Former

Pros – People there are friendly and open minded. I can discuss my work with my supervisor whenever he has time. Salary is good.

Cons – If I were asked to say some downsides of working at NTT DoCoMo USA labs, I would say their research team is not very big and the chances of exchanging ideas with people from similar background are slim.

Advice to Senior Management – NTT DoCoMo is a strong company in the field of telecommunications. I feel proud to have worked there for one summer.

Problem with this review?

Overall, it is a very traditional Japanese company that promotes only Japanese...

Current

Pros – It's always trying to generate business using its wireless technology
Nice benefits including health, vision, and dental
Self-management
Semi-annual bonus distribution

Cons – Only promotes expats and Japanese
Very disorganized and lack of communication
Bureaucracy, classification, and hierarchy
Still searching for its a revenue generating business

Advice to Senior Management – Please consider talented people and should address unproductive employees. Listen to employees and have better communication.
