If you are interested in Japanese or Japan, it's a great place to work.

    Cons

Japanese culture, hierarchy etc, all the traits commonly seen in Japanese company.

    Advice to Management

Better pay people based on their skills rather than how long they worked in the company..

    Pros

Research position at NTT. Good work environment, very flexible. One can learn knowledge for telecommunications market and earn research skills. Rank doesn't really matter.

    Cons

Outside research position, most of the things are very conservative so it takes time to put things forward. Overall, relationship with your boss really matters, not your ability.

    Advice to Management

Although a good company, it is so conservative that it may be difficult for new comers to fit in or change somethings in the system. Company management had better listen voices from various positions and try to make the environment better.

    Pros

Advantage of working with some talented/ down to earth characters, who are unfortunately all being taken for a ride The Location. although it is due to change to somewhere cheaper by 2015

    Cons

Lack of flexibility: little or NO working from home, expect to be monitored on EVERYTHING from what time you come in to how long you spend in the bathroom.. Handholding: Expect to never use your own initiative, whas the point when you HAVE TO follow all the rules set by above (tokyo) VERY japan centric culture - NO compatibility for Europeans. VERY difficult environment and odd work ethic

    Advice to Management

Address employee concerns and issues properly, not just by having a " if you dont like it, then leave" attitude. Provide more freedom of ideas and opinions. stop relying on rules and regulations which stops creativity. Allow employees to be in charge of their own working structures, provide a more trusting approach
