Positive, learned a lot, met technical people

I worked at NVIDIA as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

nice people to work with, had weekly or bi-weekly talk by technical guys who give us general info about the current trend, new ideas, etc. I felt like my mentor really wanted me to learn something and not just get the work done. The work was not hard to get stuck and was not easy to make it bored. It was challenging enough.

    Cons

Sometimes you need to get info from people and it is hard to get it since people are busy. documentation can help. Some stuff done by former guys had no documentations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I am not qualified to give advice to management because of lack of experience. But I would say they should let their employees to take time to work on documentations. Perhaps deadlines and work pressure make that difficult, but that seems important to me.

I have been working at NVIDIA (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Nvidia is willing to take risks to position itself into future markets. They are good in learning from their mistakes.

    Cons

We work on high end products and sometimes get bad press on the direction we are taking. This results in lower stock prices than many of us feel we should be at while working in the valley.

I have been working at NVIDIA full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

In NVIDIA, you never think you are alone, peoples working here always help each and provide enough support. I like the company culture.

    Cons

Not like facebook and other big company, the lunch is not free here, although the dinner is very cheap, you just pay 1 dollar for the first food box.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would suggest the manager to encourage the employees to attend meetings and make the reimbursement as well as possible as they can.

I have been working at NVIDIA full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

A lot of opportunity to take on new challenges and bigger projects to move ones career forward. NVIDIA is steadily moving into a modern web service based platform and as a developer it is great to be involved with that.

    Cons

Like with most large companies, office politics and inter-team issues pop up which can get in the way of getting the job done. It can be frustrating to play politics instead of doing actual work.

I have been working at NVIDIA full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Challenging work.
If you take the initiative and be proactive, you will be rewarded careerwise.

    Cons

The work is continuous with no lull. You will have to learn to pace yourself, otherwise you will burn out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to balance the workload. Multiple projects all vying for the same resources puts lots of pressure on the engineers.
