I have been working at NW Natural full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Interesting and engaging work, many good members of management. Benefits and vacation amounts are above average.

    Cons

If you are a dedicated worker, you may tend to feel over-worked and under-appreciated. Sometimes tough to find a good work-life balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have the courage to let go of employees who are not fulfilling their roles. The unfair balance between those who accomplish their tasks and those who can't or choose not to is hard on your best employees and may drive them to look for work elsewhere.

I worked at NW Natural full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The supervisor I had was familiar with their area.

    Cons

Dealing with corporate structure, not all the department heads are well versed in the area they are in charge of.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They need to be quicker to release under performers. Company has a history of moving to another area rather than dealing with the issues.

I have been working at NW Natural

    Pros

Some leaders in management are very effective. Employees are comitted to ensuring the success of the company. Very competative salaries and benefits. NW Natural can be an excellent place to work within the right department.

    Cons

Some leaders are not effective creating significant discrepancy from department to department. Signficant change has taken place in the company, some of it for the better and other changes were not.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ensure consistency within the executive team and managers in adhering to corporate goals and values. Evaluate management performance based on these goals and values.
