    NYMEX NO NO

Trade Reporter (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsShort market hours and decent benefits.

ConsOther than learning the inner workings of the open outcry commodities market on your own, the NYMEX provides no formal training. Even after learning all markets, and attaining knowledge far greater than your superiors, you may not be promoted due to pure nepotism. This coupled with a culture that promotes women depending on the shortness of their skirt, make it difficult for a young intelligent man to advance.

Advice to Senior ManagementCreate a culture of learning

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

    An insightful experience

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe work place supports a cozy work environment in addition to a good work/life balance. In addition, it provides a window of opportunity to network with clients.

ConsThe company could focus on enhancing internal opportunities for employees and compensating employees based on fair market value in order to retain the talent pool.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement could do a better job of assessing the subordinates' needs and career pursuits. In addition, they could also tailor the work environment to assist the employees to accomplish their goals.
