Pros
The work place supports a cozy work environment in addition to a good work/life balance. In addition, it provides a window of opportunity to network with clients.
Cons
The company could focus on enhancing internal opportunities for employees and compensating employees based on fair market value in order to retain the talent pool.
Advice to Senior Management
Management could do a better job of assessing the subordinates' needs and career pursuits. In addition, they could also tailor the work environment to assist the employees to accomplish their goals.
Pros
Short market hours and decent benefits.
Cons
Other than learning the inner workings of the open outcry commodities market on your own, the NYMEX provides no formal training. Even after learning all markets, and attaining knowledge far greater than your superiors, you may not be promoted due to pure nepotism. This coupled with a culture that promotes women depending on the shortness of their skirt, make it difficult for a young intelligent man to advance.
Advice to Senior Management
Create a culture of learning
