A company that has been in transition and continues with the ICE purchase.

    Officer (Current Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsChallenging work, good personal branding working for such a long established exchange globally. Good salary, bonus and benefits. Lots of opportunity to participate in charitable events.

ConsThe current environment is one of uncertainty since the ICE purchase and the continuation of eroding market share. So this adds up to no sense of job security.

Advice to Senior ManagementLook for opportunity's the exchange
Jbs at the Management level will continue to erode.

    Front Line Clerk (Former Employee)

ProsFast pace, prestigious environment with set hours

ConsSome say the NYSE is outdated, and all for show

Advice to Senior ManagementFigure out a way to create more exclusive trading sequences, and extend the IPO launch and parties to everyone!

A great place to work, but uncertain opportunities in a very competitive industry

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsI really enjoyed my coworkers. Everyone from the executive level down was extremely friendly and professional. The after-work fringe benefits of all the listed companies was fantastic- 4th of July BBQ with Budweiser, St. Patricks Day with Guinness and Jameson, Cinco de Mayo with Corona and Jose Cuervo. Also, walking past the Trading Floor everyday made it feel like I was part of something big and historic.

ConsA lot of people of moved on since the merger and any future opportunities are cloudy for the near future.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't let the culture and hard work of your employees get swallowed up in the merger.

ProsSome very nice people to work with

    ConsThere is too much bureaucracy!

Advice to Senior ManagementWith ICE takeover, may be the management will change for the better but it will be nice if they can learn to appreciate talented employees

Pre-Acquisition: A great place to work. Post-Acquisition: The jury's still out!

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsGreat colleagues and a sense of empowerment to do your best work. Ability to voice your opinion without fear of retaliation, good benefits, volunteer opportunities and flexible work environments, such as teleworking.

ConsAcquired by Intercontinental Exchange. Very different work culture. Seems to value keeping your head down and working long hours. At first glance very "Dickensian" though early days yet. Hopefully morale will improve (without any flogging).

Advice to Senior ManagementBetter communication; true integration of existing policies that work. Try harder not to come off as forcing a perceived "square" peg into a round hole.

Lack of direction for young and new employees

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGood location, Smart People, there is a sort of liberal culture which allows employees to lead themselves during projects, however that depends on respective senior management. Some team might be more enjoyable to work with than others

ConsInept career advancement, company was going downhill until ICE took over.

    Big Name, Low Expecations

    Systems Administrator (Former Employee)
    Chicago, IL

ProsGreat work life balance, decent pay for the industry, low expectations for those who enjoy that sort of environment. Good place to go if you enjoy the status quo. Strong future based on brand alone.

ConsNo growth opportunities. VERY political environment. Culture clashes between old guard and newer acquisitions. Heavy reliance on contract workers.
