Pros
-Senior management clearly states they want to improve employee satisfaction--they want the company to be a great place to work.
-Global company creates opportunities for learing about all aspects of the financial markets.
Cons
--After so many mergers, each city and even each department is run completely differently. There is no cohesion and this leads to arguments and discord within the company. There are no clear operating standards or guidelines. Some offices are casual dress (jeans everyday) while others are business professional.
--Organization would benefit from a flatter structure. There are so many levels of management it slows things down.
--Senior management encourages telecommuting and flex options but local/dept managers frown on it so there is a disconnect there.
Pros
Global brand, changing industry, many different divisions to grow your career
Cons
Nepotism and politics runs deep here and it is very tough to penetrate into management jobs unless you're in the right political circle. Too many senior managers who don't add nearly enough value for the salaries they are paid, particualrly those that have been grandfathered in as part of smaller acquisitions. There is little accountability at the senior levels.
Advice to Senior Management
Take a look at some of the other divisions outside 11 Wall and you might be surprised at what you find.
Pros
Competitive benefits, salary and descent bonuses. Friendly environment amongst employees. Plenty of memorable events to view and participate in. Open communication between the management and employees.
Cons
Departments can be overwhelmed with so much work and not enough people adding stress to the emplees and their environment.
Pros
Flexible with great management and directors
Cons
Lack of holidays because of the nature of their business
Advice to Senior Management
Keep doing what your doing

Strong Market Position
Smart management team
Cons
Too many mergers can be a distraction for growth.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to estbalish strong teams.
Pros
To learn what NOT to do in running a company
Cons
Inept senior management that have inflated titles to match their egos
Lack of meaningful communication from management to staff
Decisions made by people who do not listen to customers or staff
Promotions based on who you hang out with and brown nose
Poor merger integrations and horrible technology
Hardest and smartest workers have left the firm...only ones left have inflated salaries they will not find easily outside
Credit always go to top management; blame flows outward and downward
No strategy
Advice to Senior Management
Wake up and take a look at the "talent" you see in "senior leadership"
Pros
Team level - excellent. Great group with some very smart people
Flexible working - as long as core hours are covered, and the freedom isn't exploited
Very good benefit package
Always busy - never going to be bored due to lack of work
Cons
VP title given out far too freely - too many grand titles for doing the same work that their subordinates do.
No career progression unless you can talk the talk, not walk the walk.
Money is below industry standard, even in Northern Ireland
Advice to Senior Management
Offer better training and a career progression path
Pros
1. It is famous
2. Get many projects to work on. Good for experience.
3. Some colleagues were nice and helpful.
Cons
Working here was more of a pain than any kind of satisfaction. Reasons below:
1. Very less compensation offerred for the amount of work thrown at you
2. Expect employees to work overtime without overtime pay.
3. Senior management is not skilled. My boss hardly knew how to code being the head of the development team.
4. Major screw up in pay. They cut all possible taxes and do not issue a refund. So you are left running after the government for a refund. They do not cooperate with anything.
I received my pay for working in May in September!!!!
5. All their systems are extremely slow and processing one service request takes over a month!
6. Some people are nice and jovial. But majority of the employees have a lot of attitude.
7. Most of the projects have no point. I do not see why they waste so much time and money in projects which end up going nowhere!
8. EXTREMELY PAINFUL PLACE TO WORK!!!
9. No Canteen or eating place for employees after being such a big company!
10. They prefer to keep employees hanging instead of offering them better opportunites and run after you as soon as they find out you have better opportunities lined up!
11. Some senior management flirt with employees which I did not find to be a nice practice in such a professional environment.
Pros
work from home, dont have to see bosses.
Cons
midnight on call and irregular working hours sometimes.
