I have been working at NYSE full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    - Great vacation time with decent work-life balance
    - Opportunity to meet with C-level executives on a daily basis
    - Exposure to a wide variety of companies, media and industries
    - Smaller company creates a closer knit community of people - in terms of the people I work with - they are great
    - Mostly an encouraging place to work

    Cons

    - Lack of remote capabilities
    - Lack of promotions via title or compensation
    - Red tape

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

For young professionals, there isn't a lot of opportunity to advance within the organization - from a title or compensation-based perspective. If you want to keep and foster young talent, give them opportunities to improve their professional lives.

I worked at NYSE full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good exposure to buy/sell side clients on wall street. Younger team with decent social environment. Learn a lot related to electronic markets.

    Cons

Salary isn't as competitive as buy/sell side firms. People tend to be very busy so you must fend for yourself.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop a stronger career management program, and shift a larger portion of the variable compensation to base base.
