    Pros

Great brand and culture prior to ICE. In general a fun place to work on the technologies side. Compensation and experience is great.

    Cons

Since ICE acquired everything has been downhill unfortunately. They've sold off many lines of business and at the moment, most people's jobs are in jeopardy of being cut. ICE has high profit margins and don't really care about work/life balance.

    Advice to Management

Not much to say as upper management don't have a lot of control over all the current shakeups that have been occurring due to the ICE acquisition.

  3. Amazing place to work, going through lots of change post ICE merger.

    Pros

Fast-paced environment, very interesting work, great people, lots of autonomy, like no other place in the world.

    Cons

Unsettling employment situation due to aggressive expense savings and staff reductions.

    Advice to Management

Continue to push for regulatory change and opportunities to build the business across asset classes.

    Pros

The NYSE over the past 5 years was a dynamic place to work with good perks and prestige. The executive team did their best to communicate and overall the employees were smart, motivated and fun to work with. While internal training and mentoring was not consistent it was a good place to learn about the corporate environment and allowed you to rub shoulders with some of the biggest companies in the world. The pay was moderate for financial services, but good compared to other industries.

    Cons

The recent acquisition by ICE (fall 2013) pretty much was the end of the NYSE. It is now a shadow of its former self. ICE dismantled most of the company that was built over the last 10 years. The corporate power center moved to Atlanta and most NY management is gone. Current environment is grim.

    Advice to Management

    There is none left.

    Pros

Known brand recognition and dynamic environment.

    Cons

Too much change as of late. There is a lack of direction and knowing whether your job is secure or not is unsettling.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more with your employees. This is not needed at the Executive Level but at a Managerial level.

    Pros

The overall compliance work is of the "checklist" kind (easy, just follow the rules), with an illusion of freedom and importance. Compensation is OK; although, never will be at the high-end of the scale. The ratio $/t is enticing. The benefits are going by the wayside like everybody else. You get a good viewing perspective, as you can see all the parts and how markets and industry work; and that it all it is.

    Cons

You are and always be out-gunned, out-budgeted, out-numbered and out-witted by the revenue side, the winners, the Industry and its contrivers. Always and just catching up with the bad guys and feeling frustrated. Not a nurturing place to learn and join in your life.
    Good Concepts but Bad Reality

    Advice to Management

    Needs improvement. Pledge the fifth.

    Pros

    -Smart people
    -Great pay
-Quick advancement with the right manager and ambition
    -Great benefits

    Cons

    -Long hours
    -Excessive politics
    -Heavily silo'd organization
-Some really smart people go underutilized

    Advice to Management

Kill the politics. Knock down the silos. You have (or had before ICE buyout anyway) some really brilliant people that could do amazing things without the politics getting in the way. Multiple times I saw teams fighting to own a process to get budget, or multiple teams building out the same tool or reinventing the wheel when it wasn't necessary.

  10. ICE acquisition is destroying a great company.

    Pros

Employee pay and benefits can be good, assuming you can get transitioned over to one of the ICE teams that has a future. There are still many smart people in development and QA, and if you have a good idea, it is possible to drive to through to implementation.

    Cons

The ICE acquisition has led to 50% staff cuts, in many cases people are being fired from NY or Chicago so they can be re-hired in Atlanta at less salary. They're loosing lots of financial experience, and expect to operate as normal. In addition, the Atlanta office is very secretive -- they will seldom call or email the "Branch" offices in NY and make bad decisions with their limited information. Dissenters who speak up are quickly fired.

    Advice to Management

Stop screwing around with employees. Every day you turn one more screw to make things more difficult, and eventually people will leave.
