Pros – They negotiate on my behalf and I get a much more decent rate and benefits being a part of the union rather than just working non-union, non-regulated jobs.
Cons – Tough because the work has been slow and if production companies don't want to go union because of the extra costs then they don't have to. There can be a lot of animosity within the department.
Advice to Senior Management – Know the people in the departments and how their work holds up. Force them to have reviews of some sort so you can weed out weaker people.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
Pros – You can work when you want to. Nabet is a union and hiring hall that can send you onto film jobs. You can take time off when you want to and once you are sent to set by the union, various productions hire you, depending on how fast and hard you work.
Cons – Work is sometimes sporatic and the hours are long.
Advice to Senior Management – Take the issues of the membership seriously in negotiation with various film companies but do not act on their "behalf" without express permisison
