  1. NSE is an amazing indie dev where everybody has the opportunity to contribute and advance the company.

    Pros

Small indie dev Substantial benefits package (This must be new, judging by the previous comments) Flexible hours & lenient vacation/sick time when necessary Top-Notch team of passionate and pleasant gamers Very little "bureaucracy." If you have an idea, and are truly inspired, all you have to do is get another team member onboard. Your ideas will be addressed and often become a reality. Lots of creative opportunity Self-developed tech

    Cons

Being a small indie studio, it seems like the company must occasionally take projects simply for the income, instead of being inspired.

I worked at Naked Sky Entertainment full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Smart, driven co-workers and some interesting projects

    Cons

Production has to make up for bad management decisions

    Advice to Management

Embrace humility, get scrappy, trust your team, and run lean.

    Pros

Work on cutting edge tech and game development Family-like atmosphere Extreme interdepartmental communication- nobody is pigeonholed and every department gets to give feedback and input to every other department. Short projects allow you to learn a lot of different specialties, if you want

    Cons

As an indy studio, sometimes you have to take less-exciting jobs to stay afloat. Sometimes you also have to take jobs that require a lot of crunching.

    Advice to Management

Try to keep a consistent vision for the company's progress. Try to avoid choosing jobs that don't fit that vision. Keep moving forward!

    Pros

Easy to get in, good place to get experience inside the industry. Great for fresh starts and young people who can take risks.

    Cons

You are a contractor, will always be a contractor, and are not paid appropriately for a contract position. In fact you are grossly underpaid for any position at this company.

    Advice to Management

Figure out how other companies that do ports to consoles are able to keep actual employees on staff and paid competitively.
