    Excellent working experience

Political Sales Coordinator (Former Employee) Washington, DC

ProsThe DC office really appreciates that you are doing what is essentially data entry all day long and strives to make you feel appreciated and to make the office environment lighthearted and fun. They encourage you to take breaks to walk around the office in order to give your legs a little movement and your eyes a break from the computer. You have lots of opportunities for overtime. And the salary is competitive as far as temp work goes. Every Wednesday was Bagel Wednesday and management brought in bagels for the office. Occasionally, bonuses were charged with the temps too.

ConsYou are doing data entry all day long so you end up sitting for long periods of time staring at spread sheets.

Advice to Senior ManagementI think that management did a great job. They managed to make temporary employees feel appreciated and valued. That's no small feat.

A corporation where if you are pro-active, have a good work ethic and friendly personality you will be fine.

Sales Planner (Current Employee) New York, NY

ProsGood co-workers, and accessable managers who are willing to teach, but you have to be pro-active and seek out answers. The culture is fairly friendly and generally inclusive, with a good work-life balance. There are slower times of the year when the hours are shorter than ususal.

ConsThere is very little training, you have to figure it out, or ask others. Often it is difficult to figure something out, and asking one person for help turns into five or six people involved and making a simple problem into an issue.

You must be very proactive in order to get ahead, there is no hand-holding here. During busy times the hours are long. There is little recognition for going above and beyond.

Sometimes cliques can develop among the less professional workers, usually the younger women who seem to get hired based on how the look or who they are friends with. Its important to stay above the fray in order to be taken seriously by management.

Advice to Senior ManagementImprove training and make it easier to access training from outside the company. Continue to promote from within, and give coordinators and planners guidelines and they can follow in order to move ahead in their careers. Provide optional get-togethers that are not at bars, where co-workers can get to know each other better.

    Comfortable place to work....

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGood work/life balance and benefits. Fun co-workers. Exciting industry.

ConsPromotions and new hires are often based on friendships outside the workplace. Despite many women in the lower ranks, very few get promoted to managerial roles and none are upper level executives.

Advice to Senior ManagementPromote more from within. Provide checks and balances to ensure women are being treated fairly.

ConsIf you dont want to do sales, limited advancement. Very niche within the media industry. Constant struggle to stay ahead of new technologies

NCC can be a good place to work, but difficult if you crave career growth.

    (Current Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsGreat co-workers and a fast-paced environment. NCC is fantastic at investing in building their own applications and tools to make day-to-day job function more efficient.

ConsLack of communication is the number one problem, followed by very low morale. You will learn a lot about media sales, but there is limited opportunity for advancement, and there is not a good incentive/bonus program for non-sales personnel.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere needs to be better top-down communication, defined paths to success and promotion within the company and less "silo-ing" of information.

Awful corporate company to have a career

Sales Coordinator (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsWell known company in the advertising space. Good name to have on your resume.

ConsThis company is an awful place for someone to start a career. Long hours, no rewards. HR sells the position as a company for growth, but that is far from the truth. Promotions are non-existant (unless you are coming from another company) and turnover rate is extremely high.

Advice to Senior ManagementPromote from within and reward hard working employees.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
