    Accounting dept

Accounting Services (Current Employee) Brooklyn, NY

ProsRecent overhaul of senior management- they listen, care and are making a difference- it's not hierarchical
Dynamic, you can make a difference
Interesting work, different issues arise daily
    Collaborative
Good benefits eg company gym, healthcare
Can get paid less to get more vacation

ConsLots of consultants "helping" - seems they are part of the problems- they were here before the accounting clean up, so it makes no sense they are "helping" clean up the accounts when they caused the issues

Advice to Senior ManagementFire the consultants- and sue them for the shoddy job they did with SAP implementation

Awesome experience! Worked as an intern, and fell in love with the company.

Engineering Intern (Current Employee) Waltham, MA

ProsAwesome people, and everyone was willing to help me with any thing I needed. The company does a lot for the interns, and don't just treat them like cheap labor

    ConsI don't have any cons

    Finally found a home

Senior Analyst (Current Employee) Brooklyn, NY

ProsFirst company I worked for where layoffs are rare. And when they did occur, they treated employees with respect and dignity. Annual employee surveys are conducted and sincere attempts are made to fix what's broken.

ConsAppears to be an overuse of contractors to keep headcount levels down.

Advice to Senior ManagementExcellent communication exists with one exception. More transparency is needed regarding how and why employees advance and can advance to middle and senior management levels.

    Fast paced, collaborative, and inclusive

ProsColleagues are always willing to lend a hand, no matter their current situation.

ConsOccasionally, one may feel as though their responsibilities are not quite related to their expertise and education.

    Great company

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) Melville, NY

ProsUnion protection, benefits, wonderful people. I was only there for a contract position but I had a chance to view the atmosphere and general opinions of the employees. Although people sometimes moan and groan, they all realized how they enjoyed working there. It was evident by how many years they were there.

ConsYou will have to work holidays and the night shift at the beginning.

Great work place and very helpful colleagues

Energy Efficiency Coordinator (Current Employee) Melville, NY

ProsIts a typical government type job where you get authority to do proposal appraisals, at least for my role, and work is not very challenging to learn

ConsThere is nothing much as such but just to mention I can say that loads of work is given immediately after joining
