Love working for this company due to the compassion they show for there customers.

    Certified Dietary Manager (Current Employee)
    Greenville, SC

ProsThe benefits are good and if you have a passion for long term care and rehab facilities and don't mind working long hours, this is the place to be. The company values are explicit and they treat you with respect and care about the partners as well as there customers.

ConsPersonal growth at my present collegiate level is hard and not promising.

Advice to Senior ManagementFind ways to help those who are with the company a long time and want to maintain the health care industry, this would be a plus for them. I think they do most of the time, but as you get in a certain area of expertise, advanced training is harder.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Information Black Hole

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Murfreesboro, TN

ProsNHC is a growing company that is ideally located for recent graduates of MTSU or people looking to avoid commuting to large metropolitan areas. Workloads are manageable and the environment is pleasant.

ConsThe pay is less than one would receive in the Nashville market and information is rarely disseminated down to employees in any way whatsoever. There are no performance expectations or evaluations leaving employees in the dark of what is expected and where they stand. There are little opportunities available to improve one's marketable skills and (outside of nursing programs) NHC offers no benefits for home office employees to improve education or expertise.

Advice to Senior ManagementVery simple, tell people what is expected of them and give them regular feedback letting them know how they are doing. People want to know how they are doing and the absence of this most basic principle of management leads people to believe that their jobs are unimportant.

NHC is a great place to start in accounting, but not a good option long term

    Accountant (Current Employee)

ProsNHC has a very friendly, family oriented environment. They are good about letting people off work when they need to be. The people there are polite, conservative, and easy to get along with. The accounting department is a great place to work while attending MTSU because of the location. NHC is also an extremely stable job.

ConsNHC settles for mediocrity. NHC prefers people without an educational drive past a 4 year degree. They actually discourage furthering your education or sitting for the CPA exam because they want you to be there for years and years. If you want to be in an office as a senior accountant for 20-30 years without any major changes or promotions, then NHC is the perfect employer.

Advice to Senior ManagementEncourage partners to better themselves outside of work. Why not have the most knowledgeable employees you can find? Stop settling for mediocrity.
