I have been working at National Institute for Smart Government as a contractor for more than 3 years

    Pros

If you want to work on some finest projects in government sector, NISG provides you that gateway.

    Cons

This is simply a placement agency so it does not care much about placed people. One has to navigate himself/herself in government departments. Only join if you are willing to work on government project which are mostly unstructured.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take Care of your people and treat them well. Improve your HR policy and interact more with employees.

I have been working at National Institute for Smart Government full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Too many Govt. holidays.
Minimal or no use of Email, Video Conference, HRMS System and Organizational Chat via communicator/ST - believe in papers/letters only.
No time and energy wastage on forming employee friendly policies.
Pure body shopper with no time wastage on hearing employee concerns.
Good platform to learn how to work with minimal logistics, no facilities, with least moral support and continuous scolding of Govt. officials

    Cons

Organization is very well aware of all 'Pros' but don't have any heart or mind to think/realize.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please be fair to candidates, no-one on this earth want to aspire for peon job.

I worked at National Institute for Smart Government as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

Outstanding Finance Department, you get your salaries in time. Settlement claims are well organized. Some of the senior stalwarts are asset to this organization.

    Cons

HR department needs to work more. Organization has no promotion policy. Most of the key positions in eGov Domains are currently sourced by this organisation in India.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hiring now is mostly outsourced by external consultant which may have very negative impact amongst professionals. Appraisal policy and relocation support are weak. Current HR is mostly manned by incompetent and junior professionals.

I have been working at National Institute for Smart Government full-time

    Pros

You get to work with the Government Departments

    Cons

You are constantly reminded of the fact that in Government of India service, those hired from the Private Sector have no right to work in a dignified work environment. Once it hires, NISG, just doesn't bother about your well-being. Mr Srinadh, the very popular angler of this firm is the man who usually traps people. There is one Suresh also who traps people on behalf of NISG. Once you join, these people just do not answer your phone calls and emails, leave aside the concerns. The salary structure is way too less. It is a test of nerves for an employee. If you can survive NISG, you can survive most of the firms :)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think about the welfare of the resources working for you in remote locations spread across India. Ask your HR team to take a lesson in what HR MANAGEMENT is.
