Prosthere are some like - assured salary at the end of month, exposure to find out on your own why govt projects are in such a state ;)

Cons1. It's a body shopper for govt projects.
    2. It doesn't understand what HR management is.
    3. It doesn't care for its employees and isn't concerned about their genuine needs as well.
    4. Surprising how it's incompetent recruitment guys are still managing to get skills from the market.

Advice to Senior ManagementShake up your HR and AM team.

    Manager(Consulting) (Current Employee)
    Pune (India)

    ProsToo many Govt. holidays.
Minimal or no use of Email, Video Conference, HRMS System and Organizational Chat via communicator/ST - believe in papers/letters only.
No time and energy wastage on forming employee friendly policies.
Pure body shopper with no time wastage on hearing employee concerns.
Good platform to learn how to work with minimal logistics, no facilities, with least moral support and continuous scolding of Govt. officials

ConsOrganization is very well aware of all 'Pros' but don't have any heart or mind to think/realize.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease be fair to candidates, no-one on this earth want to aspire for peon job.

Not a good organisation to start your career with..

    Manager(Consulting) (Current Employee)
    New Delhi (India)

Pros-You get a lot of exposure to the key e-gov projects.
-Great place for networking as you work along with lot of SI's
    -Non-Hectic work schedule

    Cons-Lack of professionalism.
    -Lethargic attitude toward work.
-Not easy to find exit options.
-You tend to become a generalist rather than specialist.

More of a Manpower hiring firm than a true organisation

    Consultant (Current Employee)

    ProsGovernment Exposure, New projects exposure

ConsNo training /support or organisational culture
    No promotions/hikes linked to performance.
Clerical work mosto f the times
    No job security

Advice to Senior ManagementGet involved more with the employees in the States , adopt a performance review mechanism in true spirit instead of mere completing the formality and giving the same raise to all

    Good organisation to work with

    SRP-UIDAI (Former Employee)

ProsOutstanding Finance Department, you get your salaries in time. Settlement claims are well organized. Some of the senior stalwarts are asset to this organization.

ConsHR department needs to work more. Organization has no promotion policy. Most of the key positions in eGov Domains are currently sourced by this organisation in India.

Advice to Senior ManagementHiring now is mostly outsourced by external consultant which may have very negative impact amongst professionals. Appraisal policy and relocation support are weak. Current HR is mostly manned by incompetent and junior professionals.

    Stay Away from NISG trap

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsYou get to work with the Government Departments

ConsYou are constantly reminded of the fact that in Government of India service, those hired from the Private Sector have no right to work in a dignified work environment. Once it hires, NISG, just doesn't bother about your well-being. Mr Srinadh, the very popular angler of this firm is the man who usually traps people. There is one Suresh also who traps people on behalf of NISG. Once you join, these people just do not answer your phone calls and emails, leave aside the concerns. The salary structure is way too less. It is a test of nerves for an employee. If you can survive NISG, you can survive most of the firms :)

Advice to Senior ManagementThink about the welfare of the resources working for you in remote locations spread across India. Ask your HR team to take a lesson in what HR MANAGEMENT is.
