Good place to gain some new-employee experience

    Receptionist (Former Employee) Hampton, VA

ProsSo much diversity among the research staff- very refreshing! There was a genuine desire to build friendships in the office- part of the "family-owned" atmosphere.

ConsGiven the breadth of their mission, they operated like a family-owned business. Very closed to change. Also, there was a strange hierarchy perceived among administrative staff, research staff, visiting professors, and students.

Advice to Senior ManagementEmbrace innovation, and not just in research but within business operations. Evaluate the organizational culture- maybe a culture has been unintentionally developed that's resistant to change.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

    Excellent place for (aerospace) research.

Research Scientist. (Current Employee) Hampton, VA

ProsThe general atmosphere is great for encouraging employees to be productive. It is low-stress, thightly knit community atmosphere.

ConsFor a non-profit organization in aerospace research, funding is uncertain at times.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet more funding opportunities for researchers.
