Pros
Good place to start your career.
Cons
After a couple of years move somewhere else for advancement opportunities
Pros
Work hard play hard environment
Cons
Salary is not that great
Pros
Good work culture, flexibility in work, tolerable work pressure
Cons
Management competence and leadership capability is lacking
Advice to Senior Management
to hire better managers &/or better the existing ones
Pros
Relaxed Atmosphere. Fun Projects to Work On.
Cons
Salaries are a bit low.
Pros
The Internship Program was top notch. I was able to rotate through different marketing aspects in the company every semester. Intern managers were very focused on developing my talents and placing me where I could make an impact. Projects were challenging but allowed for a great deal of experience. The company pride was fantastic.
Cons
It is difficult to be sucessful without working knowledge behind the products and purpose of the company. Since the majority of the employees are engineers, it takes a while to pick up a working vocabulary of products if you lack a technical background.
Advice to Senior Management
Allow the fall/spring interns to preview the different functions of the company on a special intern preview day. It was too much to take in at new hire day. I think I would have been a better intern if I was exposed to the different functions of various teams before my internship really began. Once I was busy learning the ropes at my team, I had little time to investigate the function of each team.
Pros
The web team has some interesting work being done when working closely with R&D and product marketing. Lot of freedom to explore new tools and methodologies
Cons
Low pay, raises just keep up with inflation. Also favoritism in management when promoting or giving raises. Employee feedback is not taken into account to improve this issue.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat your employees as a "creative asset". Sometimes experimenting with new ideas can come up with good solutions
Pros
challenge to myself and learn new tech
Cons
there is nothing wrong in this company
Pros
Relaxed workplace. Young team. Lots of fun when you start in the Applications Engineering department. German branch office hat a great location and is brand new. You learn a lot in your first year. No job cuts during the recession.
Cons
Some - not all - middle managers only seem to have that job because they have been in the company long enough and have downright horrible management skills. German branch management seems to have lost touch with employees. Pay is ok in the beginning, but falls short after a few years if you do not go into sales. Training pretty much stops after two years. Kool-Aid drinking is mandatory.
Advice to Senior Management
Give people raises when they are promoted. Do more reviews. Give out praise if people do good work. Good job with the recession management.
Pros
Flexible with employees and stable employment
Cons
NI has limited opportunities to allow employees to grow
Pros
The culture is the greatest thing here
Cons
Pay is not so hot
