Overall positive experience; some room for improvement

Project Manager (Current Employee)
Denver, CO

I have been working at National Jewish Health full-time for more than a year

ProsCaring and dedicated staff. Company with a strategic goal to fund advanced research toward the discovery of complex health solutions. Philanthropic core values. Potential for growth with Corporate Strategy designed to achieve expansion

ConsAs with many Healthcare organizations, behind the times with technology, especially infrastructure. Too many business units without proper separation of each and/or delineation of strategy/goals, finances, resources, and management. Not enough formalized process for Project intake, planning, and scope.

Advice to Senior ManagementImmediate need to put in place process(es) for organizing a Project Portfolio and prioritization. Consider strategic avenues to appropriately separate business units and their technological requirements.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at National Jewish Health full-time for more than 5 years

ProsThe "idea" of NJH is nice. The institution does amazing things for people and the history is rich. For the few who are in a place to enjoy it, it must be gratifying. The mission statement is powerful.

ConsI've never worked with so many unhappy people. I don't know anyone who isn't currently looking for employment elsewhere.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe current system is not working. You have the responsibility to fix problems, not cover them up.
