I worked at National Networks full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Some cool folks come and go in the company. Fairly large provider, so there is a good mix of work to be done, never a dull moment. Company is constantly shifting and sometimes that opens up an opportunity.

    Cons

"Company constantly shifting" is generally not a good thing here. Business practices are very shady, clients are constantly angry about bills. Management is incredibly distrustful, borderline hateful, towards employees. The negative atmosphere from this can be toxic. I really disagreed with a LOT of decisions made over there, but stuck it out for a few years anyways. Once they had to take some cost cutting measures and started with employee benefits (not management), it was time to leave.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend some time taking care of your employees and the business will grow naturally.

    Pros

Most likely the funnest place I'll ever work...because of co-workers
You get exposed to all kinds of technologies, which can be fun.
    They allow unpaid leave.

    Cons

Owners are real cheap, don't expect to be paid well.
Zero benefits....did I mention they don't have any benefits?
Managers are obviously not good at managing people or time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your employees choose to work for you because they like the work and most likely don't want to move elsewhere. Going to be hard to keep quality employees if that changes.

Biggest provider in the area, but poor benefits and indifferent supervision make it a difficult work experience.

    Pros

Largest 3rd party IT service provider in the area. Some senior techs have excellent knowledge and skill sets. Microsoft Gold Certified partner. Excellent resources (equipment, vehicles, etc.). Great type of company to gain a large body of knowledge in IT.

    Cons

Absolutely terrible benefits (or lack thereof), even for this area. Pay is at the bottom end of the scale for the area, with great disparity between employees. Management is lackluster at best; very swift to respond to even minor rule infringements, but painfully slow to provide employee support, rewards, or improved benefits. Company is family-owned, and the chance for advancement is often hindered by the "good-old-boy" system and preferential treatment of long-standing family relationships.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees well, make them love work, and they will take care of your customers and be enthusiastic about growing the business.

    Pros

It is a quickly growing IT company where everyone is encouraged to learn and advance themselves. The hours are good, and it is easy to get things done that one cannot normally accomplish during the usual 8 to 5 type job because of job mobility.

    Cons

Salaries are generally undesirable for any position accept management. Being a family owned business moving up into a management position is nearly impossible. So room for advancement is almost out of the question.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Most of the employees feel that they are underpaid and under appreciated, regardless of the general moral. The past years 'cost cutting' procedures have cut most of the benefits that most of the employees had become accustomed to.

    Pros

The technicians will readily welcome you into their fold and share their wealth and knowledge of experience. This is a good step on the ladder.

    Cons

Pay, benefits, and managerial leadership are all laughable. Unfortunately this family-owned business seems lack a lot of foresight when it comes to its technicians and is losing employees at every turn.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your employees. It isn't difficult. Pay them well, give them good benefits such as decent time off [1 week time off once you've been full time for 1 year is laughable].
