I have been working at National Tsing Hua University full-time

    Pros

    Smart people yet humble
    Great work ethics
Very good perks and they always surprise you over and over again .
A lot of High impacting projects for a large scale company like Google.

    Cons

Big companies have more budget for excess management layers, hiring numbers that preclude being too picky, and too few opportunities for people to distinguish themselves. That makes situations where politics are required for advancement much more likely. They have big revenues which can support substantial pay packages, have a hard time attracting senior talent, and advancing far enough can consequently imply a large compensation delta for more seniority. That really encourages people to play political games. Politics are still a problem when you don't care about advancing because there's less interesting new work than there are experienced developers to fight over it.

I worked at National Tsing Hua University as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Great research facilities. Facilities are not a constraint for any work you do here. The faculty are very helpful. The lab group culture is very strong. In extracurriculars, competitive sports is a major activity in which almost everyone participates and is highly encouraged. The sports facilities are excellent.

    Cons

The only con is that all academics are in Mandarin. Learning Mandarin is a requirement for any medium-long term projects. Fortunately, the university has a good Mandarin learning program.

I have been working at National Tsing Hua University

    Pros

The work hour is quite flexible, but it highly depends on the PI.
The environment is very nice and convenient.

    Cons

    Pay is not the best.
Typical life expenditure is quite high, but it does not provide the same quality as it costs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To choose a good PI is the 1st step, and then become a PI for the next step if possible.
