Pros
None come to mind.....but for those that want to relocate just to relocate go to Nationwide. They constantly pay for full relocations without any question. Many have relocated 10+ times in 10 years or less......this benefit is out of control...if they ever wanted to cut costs they should start here.
Cons
Where do I begin? The entire company needs an overhaul...many talented people have left on their own the past few years and those that remain do so because they can't go anywhere else.
Advice to Senior Management
Take a good look at those in HR leadership positions, place controls around your relocation benefit and process
Pros
If you want t a job quick they have openings. Be carful what job that you accept. This is the downfall.
Cons
If you do not do everything correct you are out the door. They will nitpick at you and get rid of you quick.
Advice to Senior Management
There is nothing I can say to upper management accept to treat employees better and treasure the experience that they have.
Pros
Fast paced, innovative, people are genuine.
Cons
Micro - organized, a lot of change.
Advice to Senior Management
Consistency.
Pros
Great work life balance. Nice people that care where they work.
Cons
Not very standard way of promoting and hiring people. Very slow to get things done even by large corporation standards.
Advice to Senior Management
Please put more structure around your hiring and promotions standards.
Pros
Great work / life balance
Ability to move upward in certain departments
Opportunity to move accross functional areas
Pay is reasonable
Cons
Downtown location is not very convenient
Innovation is difficult to achieve and many technical constraints exist
Benefits are average to below average
Pros
Good career advancement opportunity here.
Cons
Slightly low pay compared to other Insurance companies.
Pros
Job, salary, perks, benefits. The way you were considered family and treated as such. Used to listen to the people out in the field, about size of territory or number of resonable stops one could or should make per day.
Cons
Became more interested in questionable commercials at the expense of tenured employees some with over 25 years. There one day gone the next.
Advice to Senior Management
Go back to feeding your employees that got you where you are, instead of just looking at numbers al the time. How do you think you got those numbers?
Pros
I worked for a great agent, so working for Nationwide was a great experience for me.
Cons
If the Nationwide agent you work for isn't a great boss, you're in trouble. There's not really anyone to turn to higher up than them.
Pros
Benefits, job, offices all over
Cons
No growth
no advancement
you have to kiss Bu#@ in order for management to be nice
Lynchburg not great/management in service is not educated and don't know what they are doing
Advice to Senior Management
Fire HR guy- he's rude and unfriendly
Pros
Great facilities
Wonderful services provided to employees on the campus
Above average attempt at communication on business issues to employees
Powerful Intranet Communications
Midwest feel in most staff
Cons
Slow and fragmented decision making
Hierarchial Management
Management often goes through the motions, does not imbrace change (Humor the SVP)
Will step over a $1.00 to pick up a $0.01
Does not focus analytics in right areas
Issues with sharing of resources and information across functional areas
Questions with how contract staff are justified
Advice to Senior Management
Look across the lines of business before making decisions and need to learn how to improve the communications to make this process more agile. Do not forget the agents or make up your mind on how you want to service your customers.
