    Pros

It was very easy to move up within the company. Schedule was very flexible. Working on weekends was not required for my department.

    Cons

My department went through an attrition model and several employees were out of a job if they couldnt get hired within.

    Advice to Management

I have none. Based on my experience, i had a very friendly group of managers that were great!

I have been working at Nationwide full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent culture for a big corporation. Great people to work with. Opportunity for advancement and training. There seems to be a genuine effort to keep employees happy. Earning potential is fair or (slightly) better. Much better product to offer than most other companies. All levels of management seem to be very approachable. Very nice mentoring program. Benefits are good except for ...

    Cons

...health plan which is horrid. Metric chasing gets downright silly sometimes. Four different scheduling/calendar systems. Systems don't communicate wIth each other. Team structure provides an inconsistent experience. Limited candidate pool necessitates hiring questionable people. Micromanagement gets tiring. Middle management exhibits a Chicken Little reaction to normal business cycles in order to impress the next level up. There's a fairly narrow statistical window for trending analysis which feeds the chicken little mentality. IT department is very good but IT systems are not cutting edge.

    Advice to Management

Beef up compensation package to attract better candidates. Hire professionals and then treat them that way. Remember that "growth" doesn't necessarily equal "success."

    Pros

Many opportunities to advance and experience different business units.

    Cons

Might be difficult for some people to believe they can advance. Its very competitive environment where some associates build "kingdoms" to protect their roles.

    I worked at Nationwide full-time

    Pros

Overall, great customer service and a great help desk for agents. I enjoyed my time working for the company and felt like I was truly able to help people understand the process of insurance.

    Cons

I attempted to apply to open an agency after working for Nationwide as an associate agent for over 4 years, but never heard a response back. Also, when I applied for appointment with Nationwide once I had my P&C and Life Insurance Licenses, it took them 7 months to verify and to get me appointed to sell with Nationwide.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to emails and inquiries about opening an agency, or at least respond back if you feel that the person is not qualified.

    Advice to Management

Please increase package,. It is very less as compared to other competitors.Apart from this work life and culture is super awesome and doesn't need any changing
