I have been working at Natus Medical (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I have worked for this company for more than 6 years after the company I was working for was acquired. Natus is much more focused on making money than my old company was - but that is why we were sold, we ran out of cash.

    Cons

long commute and have to work late sometimes.

    Advice to Management

Increase the 401k contribution from Natus - we would contribute more from our paychecks!

    Pros

Great HR team, wonderful people to work with. Managers who care and understand that work/life balance.

    Cons

Smaller Office, mostly independent work (I don't mind personally)

    Pros

The executive management has perfected greed and selfishness. Employees, products, quality, are all sacrificed to pad the pockets of the senior staff and major shareholders. If you admire those qualities in the so called leaders of a company then this is the place for you.

    Cons

In the words of Natus senior management "People are expendable - it is the stockholders that are the most important part of this company. We need to keep the stockholder happy - short term growth is the only thing that is important" There are those that view that perspective as very good. As an employee you have to remember that you can be discarded at any moment. Your value as an employee is to ensure that the senior management continue to get their perks and excessive bonuses.

    Advice to Management

People are the most valuable asset to a company.

    Pros

Fast growing, minimal competition, some great products. Most of the Sales Managers are knowledgeable, and fun to work for. Not a lot of micro-managing, and compensation when at or over plan is good.

    Cons

Fall short of plan any quarter, you take an enormous hit to your income. Upper management keeps raising the quotas and lowering the percentages you get paid. If your territory doesn't already have a good install base, you're going to have a rough ride. The initial guarantee is laughable for a capital job.

    Advice to Management

You've ridden "x" consecutive quarters of record sales off the backbone of the sales team, stop lowering the percent paid out to comical levels for anything under 100%. If a rep know they're not going to hit plan in a quarter, then it makes no sense to sell anything based on the percentages. That's why everyone sandbags to the next quarter.

I have been working at Natus Medical (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Family atmosphere, flexible work environment, team culture, nice benefits, stock options, 401k, etc. I worked for this company right out of college, then left, then came back. Believe me when I say I knew what I was doing. Excellent company to work for.

    Cons

Lack of communication like in so many companies. The culture is a reflection of upper management. Like in many companies, I would encourage the senior leadership team to continue to listen to the voices from within the walls.

I have been working at Natus Medical full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company offers stock option purchases. 10 holidays, 1-5 years 4 weeks of vacation and sick day accruals. Can carry over to next year up to 180 hrs

    Cons

No rewards for employees unless you are a salesman or sales woman. They have award trips, regional and national awards for performance, while the rest are lucky if we get a raise....multiple national meetings a year...

    Advice to Management

Be are in your allocation of employee development...award and compensation programs. Need career development and a career path.

I worked at Natus Medical full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Not much to offer in the way of pros.

    Cons

The executive team is focused solely on the stock market. Day to day activities revolve around the stock price. Never ending changes to meet market expectations. No focus on quality of products or services just stock price.

    Advice to Management

The CEO needs to stop making empty promises. After 10 years we are fully aware that anyone below executive level is to be treated poorly.

    Pros

The industry is great. Lots of possibilities for some really cool software

    Cons

Boss with terrible ego - cannot stand to listen to any opinion that is not his.

    Advice to Management

Check your middle management people - they use their egos to run the company, not their skills.
