    Pros

Decent discount on merchandise if you like it. Early Access to sample sales (all so you can put your hard earned dollars back to the company). Decent time off if you are allowed to take it.
My own team members were wonderful, but were either laid off or left due to the toxic company culture.

    Cons

The attitude of upper management is that you are fortunate to be employed. Literally, the president at one company town hall meeting said that employees should count themselves lucky to have a job that was indoors and air conditioning.
Turnover is astounding. Mass layoffs or good employees leaving all the time. Then they hire less experienced, mentally unstable people to replace them for less money. Vice presidents that would berate unpaid interns who just happened to help or volunteer their efforts during a meeting. Another director level person who had razor blades in her purse would lash out at people for things she perceived you thought about her (nothing actual said or done). She made my manager fear for her safety.
Harassment and racial insensitivity was rampant and rewarded via promotions or retaliation to those who dared to complain. A former president (and several other high level executives) would make comments like "Hire Asian, they work hard for cheap" )
The condescending, insulting, backstabbing of director level and up to even their own team members creating a horrible, toxic culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have no faith in upper management.

I have been working at Nautica Enterprises as a contractor for more than 10 years

    Pros

-Originally very hands on Senior Management teams.
-Very strong brand recognition, and a leader in the Menswear space.
    -Legacy of leadership.

    Cons

-Systematically eliminated so many great people who made the company great, trying to improve the bottom line by cutting expenses.
-Extremely dated creative and merchandising. It's like the idea spigot got turned off in 2008.
-Shoddy Senior management who rely on cronies to create an Ivory tower atmosphere.
-Vitriolic, toxic leadership by middle management creates Zero associate loyalty.
-So many people there are haunted by the Company Nautica once was, yet after so many Mis-steps the eventual demise is always just over the horizon.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find new Senior Executives, and Divisional leaders, and start over.

I have been working at Nautica Enterprises full-time

    Pros

Good work/life balance. Most people are very nice, the upper managements needs work.

    Cons

Corporate spending is all over the place. They should spend on salaries and developing brand recognition. Instead they spend a lot of money on useless marketing initiatives.

No collaboration between departments. The development of a team culture is deeply needed.

HR department does not listen to complaints of harassment everything is swept under the rug. They also promote people and do not increase their compensation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at proper ROI for what appear to be great marketing initiatives. This company has so much potential but only listening to ideas of the president or VP's will not get you anywhere.

Improve salaries across the board to get the best out of your employees. Also provide employees with a sound board to get their ideas heard.

    Provide stock options for employees.

Watch your HR department they do not listen to complaints of harassment everything is swept under the rug. They also promote people and do not increase their compensation.

    I worked at Nautica Enterprises

    Pros

40% off, they usually hire good workers. It's a dollar above minimum wage not too bad. No incentive to sell.

    Cons

Management is lacking, and there is no room to move up. Also they have a quota you must reach but you get no commision.
