Not a bad place to start, but try not to stay too long.

    Senior Consultant (Current Employee)
    Chicago, IL

ProsGood collection of people at younger levels.

ConsCareer advancement is very slow. The fact that it is publicly traded as well leads to dramatic cost cutting measures when quarterly estimates are not hit; the first expense to be reduced: labor.

Advice to Senior ManagementBetter upward mobility options.

Success here depends on your Managing Director

    Senior Consultant (Current Employee)
    Chicago, IL

    Pros-Complex, challenging engagements
    -Many young, smart people
-Strong focus on training and continuing education
-Flexible work arrangements, among other initiatives, are currently in the works

    Cons-Not a great work/life balance
-Inefficiency is rewarded here; bonuses are based on utilization, rather than quality of work
-Managing Directors can get away with some pretty appalling behavior if they're bringing enough business

Advice to Senior ManagementMake sure that your consultants do not get lost; assign mentors to the young people.
