    Pros

A lot of exposure to existing projects. Good client interaction. A lot to learn from managers that keep you motivated. There is always someone to listen to your ideas. Some of the projects could be challenging and you could find yourself brainstorming creative mathematical solutions to solve existing problems.

    Cons

Some of the deadlines could be tight.

    Pros

Exposure to a wide variety of industries and project types, reasonably competitive salary and benefits, management promotes work/life balance typically

    Cons

Senior management does not actively recruit junior staff leading to staffing issues and long hours in times of turnover, salary seems to lag competitors slightly, especially year end cash bonus

    Advice to Management

Improve recruiting policies, recruit more actively at a variety of campuses instead of just one, improve work culture by organizing more group events

    Pros

Great firm, great leadership, flexible with working from home, with many high profile clients in a variety of industries. Transparency as far as advancement and placement is also a plus

    Cons

People are spread out across the country, which can make interaction difficult, hard to coordinate. Also makes for a less collegial atmosphere as you call to chat about work, not much else

    Advice to Management

Office culture is decent, training was very little, could be improved.

    Pros

It is a well diversified company that provides excellent health benefits and training opportunities. It also provides an motivating environment to develop as a consultant.

    Cons

The different sectors of the company do not seem to blend together in an amalgamated fashion. There seems to be different corporate cultures across different practices.

    Advice to Management

I think compensation was below industry standard

    Pros

    * Compensation was good.
    * If you are proactive, you can push your career in the direction you want by choosing the right projects.
    * Developing skills is encouraged as long as you take initiative.

    Cons

Must work a lot (though that's generally true of most competitors as well).

    Advice to Management

Be sure to help develop lower level staff to keep them engaged.

    Pros

A lot of flexibility and remote opportunities available within the Corporate Services teams.

    Cons

IT is not viewed as a strategic partner of the firm, although it has some talent to fill this role. Navigant doesn't refresh their technology, so to stay relevant with cutting edge technology, ambitious employees will leave after a couple of years.

    Advice to Management

If Navigant's IT Departments business objective is to stay status quo, then change nothing. If leadership has a vision to be more innovative, strategic directors should be brought in who are empowered to make real change.

    Pros

Compensation, "discretionary time off" policy for senior leaders is theoretically nice, expert co-workers, good office locations

    Cons

Lots of change, meritocracy kills innovation by rewarding only those things that payoff right now and teamwork by promoting individual performance over the team, out of touch leadership which should be resolved with Goodyear's departure. No upward mobility for almost everyone on the staff. The job you have when hired is the job you'll have in 10 years.

    Advice to Management

Need to find a way to entice teamwork and innovation without killing the generally helpful merit based culture.

    Pros

They offer competitive benefits and a supportive work environment. I also found my co-workers to be very friendly and there was good camaraderie and team work.

    Cons

The middle and upper level management tiers could be more transparent. The organizational structure also seemed somewhat complex, although this may have been due to the nature of the consulting industry.

    Pros

Our leadership team has clearly articulated a vision for future growth, we are bring top talent on board and winning great engagements that keep our workforce challenged and motivated. The company offers internal and external training options to advance its workforce and the culture here embraces diversity through Employee Resource Groups. The Firm also supports new ideas and has created platforms, like the Innovation Challenge to reward employees for out-of-the-box thinking.

    Cons

Change doesn't always happen overnight, but the company is making strides in the right direction.

    Advice to Management

Keep communicating and articulating the path for growth to employees. It's great that management offers feedback on areas that need work. The senior leadership team is also doing a great job of communicating the vision for growth, but it would be great to see more examples of how that vision is (or will be) actualized.
