Company has great potential, needs to establish values and vision shared by all vs. created by a few.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsNavigant has many talented people across practice areas. Thought leaders in many industries they serve.

ConsThere are highliy siloed groups within the organization which compromise efficiency, growth, and collaboration.

Cons- Quiet company and tend to keep to your own department
    - Would prefer to use Mac for graphics

Great people at the bottom and top, middle is a meh

Senior Consultant (Former Employee) North Chicago, IL

ProsFreedom from being over managed, great culture, ESPP, office locations, and well-rounded business offering. Learned allot from a small group whom I expect will be following my lead and leaving soon.

ConsWith a few exceptions in my experience middle management lacks experience and skills. Training is dated and your left on your own for skill development. Not many rain makers or innovative projects. Pay is MUCH lower than industry norms but hours are the same very long.

Advice to Senior ManagementReview middle management's ability to stimulate staff and actually perform work. 360 reviews or just observing the daily routine of some employees would provide great benefit to increase productivity and the bottom line. Oh and Tone at the Top, fix it for some practices.

    Great company, great people.

Senior Consultant (Former Employee) Washington, DC

ProsNavigant provides a great opportunity to learn on various projects and it is relatively easy to move from project to project.

ConsSometimes you can get stuck working on a project on and off for years at a time. It is not like other consulting firms where you get experience working on shorter term projects.

Very fast-paced, deadline driven environment with focused and motivated employees

Evidence Manager/Media Specialist (Current Employee) Vienna, VA

ProsSeveral teams to work with and learn from daily, employees work very well together as a team. Learn to deal with constant changes in work environment that constantly helps build new skill sets.

ConsSometimes stressful due to the fast-paced environment, working with deadlines daily can be stressful as well.

    Finance analysis heavy consulting firm

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

    ProsLarge stable company
    Great training program
    Great coworkers

    ConsLimited control on project selection
    Long hours at the office
Limited interactions with client at junior level

Advice to Senior ManagementMore opportunities for junior staff to interface with clients

Good Exposure, but management has poor foresight

Managing Consultant (Former Employee) Dallas, TX

ProsGot to work with numerous high power clients

ConsSince it is publicly traded, they are constantly turning over head count. A constant cycle of hire and fire.

Advice to Senior ManagementSince what you have to sell is expertise, invest in the resources you already have and hold onto them in the mild down turns, otherwise your "brain trust" get depleted and you have to quickly fill it with unknown assets.

If you know the right people, and push hard to shape your fate you'll be fine

    Senior Consultant (Former Employee)

ProsGreat people in mid/junior levels, who are like minded and adhere to similar values. Good exposure to clients early on if you have skills that are needed and valued.

ConsSenior management needs to be more transparent and sell projects that directly fit with junior employee expertise. Staffing the right person at the right time is crucial, and underselling projects may make clients happy, but make project staff unhappy and feeling less valued.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire the right people for your projects, or take projects that fit with the caliber of people you hire.
