Company provides lots of flexibility in terms of time management and location but not great on compensation

    Pros

As said before there is a lot of flexibility, in addition the culture strives to minimize micro management and incentivize initiative and autonomy

    Cons

Very bureaucratic feel which is typical of any large corporate firm with many entities but still it seems little is being done to reduce the number of inefficiencies bureaucracy creates

Working for Navigant is worthwhile, but not a passion.

    Pros

There is a lot of flexibility to do the work you are interested in and the flexibility to maintain a good work/life balance.

    Cons

It is a very corporate environment which allows for people to fall through the cracks and promotes competition over collaboration.

    Pros

    Interesting project work (sometimes)
    Generally good compensation
    Flexible work location

    Cons

Pace and expectations of output for junior employees are often unrealistic.
Senior management can be hard to work with.
The worst manager I've ever had was promoted from a pretty high level to a really high level while I was employed.
Project management processes were old and bureaucratic

    Pros

The office culture can be somewhat stuffy, but most people are talented and committed. Lots of training opportunities and if you are creative, you can pitch your own.

    Cons

There is an increasing pressure on billability, which doesn't help for making it a fun place to be. There's a bit of an identity crisis at the moment. You need to get on good projects with good D's and MD's if you want to advance.

    Advice to Management

Invest in better systems to support employees. Make messages more consistent to employees about the value you hope to get from them.

    Pros

The case work can be very interesting and engaging, people in general are great, employees are treated well, hard work is noticed and rewarded

    Cons

Work/life balance is challenging as hours can be extremely long, mistakes are considered to be earth-shattering, compensation is not great considering hours worked

    Pros

Solid post-undergrad work experience; access to senior management; work on high-impact projects with high-profile clients.

    Cons

Not all senior management is competent. Work / life balance can, at times, be nonexistent.

    Advice to Management

You have some smart, hard-working people working long hours; invest in their professional development and ensure senior management is competent enough to lead and support the team.
