    Great company, great people.

Senior Consultant (Former Employee) Washington, DC

ProsNavigant provides a great opportunity to learn on various projects and it is relatively easy to move from project to project.

ConsSometimes you can get stuck working on a project on and off for years at a time. It is not like other consulting firms where you get experience working on shorter term projects.

Not as hands on as I would like, but definitely exposed to a lot of experience and senior level consultants.

    Intern (Current Employee) Washington, DC

ProsWorked with very experienced consultants who were eager to share their knowledge.

ConsNot at much analytical/testing experience for interns

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to give interns more field-related activities instead of HR-focused work.

Good first job, wouldn't stay there long-term

Senior Consultant (Current Employee) Washington, DC

    ProsGreat people at lower levels

ConsZero work life balance on some projects, very hard to transition off of them if they are profitable for the firm

Advice to Senior ManagementReward your top performers better, encourage more project rotation - that's why people go into consulting.

Good career launchpad, no need to stay

Senior Consultant (Former Employee) Washington, DC

ProsComraderie, opportunity. Ability to move across practice areas was allowed with a bit of initiative.

ConsClique-y, warped sense of criteria for advancement. I got the sense I needed to be dating a coworker to get a promotion.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Great Internship experience

Summer Associate (Former Employee) Washington, DC

ProsGot to meet and talk to some very high up managing directors on a daily basis; experienced conference calls with high up executives; many intern events that allowed a casual environment for the interns with the employees.

ConsThe internship is only eight weeks long

Good place to start your career.

    Consultant (Current Employee) Washington, DC

ProsCompensation is actually okay comparing to some other companies. You may also have the opportunity to work for some big name clients.

ConsManagement tend to over-promise clients which means no work/life for employees at times. There is a lack of communication from the management side.

Advice to Senior ManagementMore communication with employees. More culture building activities.

Navigant is a good "starter wife" consultancy

Senior Consultant (Former Employee) Washington, DC

ProsFriendly and intelligent co-workers. There was an opportunity to work on some very interesting and challenging projects, but they are usually on top of other work you had to complete.

ConsWorked too many hours for the pay. I got pulled into working on mortgage crisis projects and there was no opportunity to get out.
