I have been working at Nebraska Public Power District full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

It depends on the location & the department... Finding a new position within the company is very likely-room to advance. 401k match is an awesome benefit.

    Cons

The General Office/Headquarters in Columbus is surprisingly lacking training... There is no structure. Managements' overall knowledge of the current workforce is completely inaccurate.

    Pros

They have great pay and benefits and retirement plan.

    Cons

constant change in company direction, constant worry you will lose your job. Upper management constantly has social outings, expensive trips and meals, all while emphasizing the company should" tighten their belts'

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Play less golf-focus on your employees who are actually working hard. Morale is always low.

    Pros

The company allows for their employees to have a great balance between work and life; allowing for flexible work schedules. The compensation and benefits are also very good.

    Cons

NPPD currently has an aging workforce; while being a positive in the sense that it will provide opportunities for advancement in the future for current employees, means that currently there might be a lack of fresh ideas.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would say that overall the management does a great job.
