I worked at NeoGenomics full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Compensation is above industry average. Flexible schedules. Supervisors assign you your work then leave you alone to do it. Company is growing so many opportunities to advance. Relocation assistance. Lab uses many automated systems making things easier for the techs to be more productive. Shift differential for weekends/nights. Ft Myers techs/sups are competent at their jobs.

    Cons

They will ask you to work " A lot!!". Very little vacation time accrual time. Most of the techs are younger so the place is full of drama. Fort Myers, FL ( need I say more?) terrible place to live. Way too much favoritism is tolerated at all levels. Supervisors/leads are sometimes disrespectful to the techs. Morale among the techs is very low. New techs quickly develop a negative attitude over being worked way too hard. Techs there are not treated equally by management. Some people are expected to work and others seem to sit around talking all day. High employee loses in the technical areas.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start worrying about the morale of the people working there.

Dumbest Leads and Supervisors at the Irvine Location

I have been working at NeoGenomics

    Pros

Corporate office and other branch are good. Irvine branch is a disaster!

    Cons

Downside of working at NeoGenomics in Irvine is most people at that lab are rejects from other labs. Most have mental problems. The supervisors and leads are desperate for control and are insecure. They will lie about anything to make themselves look half way intelligent. They are the dumbest techs many of us have worked with in our lives!
There was a director who supposedly came from some big labs, don't know how she got those gigs or if they're even true because she was horrible at managing the lab when she was there! She listened to gossip and failed to see what was really going on. She lacked any people management skils to say the least.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is to management at corporate in Fort Myers, FL: Please replace the current FLow Cytometry supervisor and other Leads that lie, and cause problems for other employees at the Irvine branch this is the only way the lab will grow!
HR needs to do a better job at identifying the real issues and get rid of employees who stir up problems in the lab to benefit themselves.
