Good for a first job

Team Member (Former Employee)
Frisco, TX

I worked at Nestlé part-time for more than a year

ProsIt's food service, but it's pretty low maintenance food service. The most complicated thing you have to make are the smoothies, and you learn those pretty fast.

ConsIt's a very small store, so it gets crowded when there are even just three people working. Also the store sells way too many things for the amount of space it has. The ice cream is such a pain and I really wish they would just get rid of it. It's Dreyer's ice cream and there is literally a Dreyer's store directly above it. Oh, and customers are evil but isn't that always the case?

Advice to Senior ManagementGet rid of the ice cream and pair down the amount of options. You really don't need to offer smoothies and ice cream and fountain drinks and coffee.

Nestle the ups and downs

EPSU TECH II (Former Employee)
Springville, UT

I worked at Nestlé full-time for more than a year

ProsExcellent pay, Great benefits package, 11 paid holidays, 2 weeks vacation to start 30 days after 5 years.

ConsLong hours standing, dog eat dog atmosphere, managers driven by higher bonus's restrict breaks

Advice to Senior Managementmonitor your line leads better. sends leads for sensitivity training, you leads are only concerned with making their bonus for the quarter and they tend to slave drive prep weigher's.

Need to be more fair in their evaluations

Sales Representative (Current Employee)
Los Angeles, CA

I have been working at Nestlé full-time for more than 5 years

ProsIt a strong company, where you could get a lot of experience and a lot of people recognize.

ConsThe company say that is fair evaluating employees, but the reality is their are not. You may over achieved your goals but one mistake would put you in the back of the bus. Management have this idea that everything have to 100% perfect when they are not. Also, Not all promotions are base in performance, if you are in the NSDP you would be fine, even if you are the biggest incompetent . You get a mentor, that is probably a manager or a senior executive, and the only thing you need to do is sit down an look pretty, in a year or 2 they promote you. Also the salary is really low.

Good launching point

Retail Sales Representative (Current Employee)

I have been working at Nestlé full-time for more than 3 years

ProsFriendly people, good opportunities, ok compensation, pension, company car.

ConsThe work isn't right for me. It's very difficult to stay motivated when you never see your boss. Also, advancement was made very difficult by having 4 different bosses in 2 1/2 years.

Advice to Senior ManagementDo a better job of advancing people based on what they're actually doing, not just what they tell you they're doing.

Life is not greener on the other side....

Technical Support Specialist (Current Employee)
Glendale, CA

I have been working at Nestlé full-time for more than 10 years

ProsBy far, the people are the greatest asset at Nestlé but compensation, benefits, and perks are impressive. Glendale HQ offers a gym and a company store.

ConsCareer growth opportunities are very limited, being a "flat organization". So, there is a good chance that you may be in the same role for several years; unless you are one of the fortunate few that get onto the "Fast Track" coming out of college.

This was the most stressful customer service job I ever had.

Customer Service (Former Employee)
Raynham, MA

I worked at Nestlé full-time for more than 5 years

ProsThe pay and benefits are great.

ConsThey will always make you feel like you are a little under par. The customers scream at you all day then the managers pick you apart. I watch all my friends get fired for stupid reasons, and then they complain they don't have enough help.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop firing all your good people.
