    I worked at Nestlé

    Pros

Great company culture, leading products, values its employees, strong leadership

    Cons

Moves slowly since it's a big company. If you're looking for a small, entrepreneurial environment this isn't the place for you, though there is appreciation for risk and innovation within one's area.

    Pros

low key, work independently, mileage reimbursement, public okay to deal with. Get uniform, safety shoes, and 401k to start. Pretty job for a PT job.

    Cons

Not the place for those that don't like the cold. Crabby store employees, ie wal-mart.

I worked at Nestlé full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

the people, the brands, the opportunity, mobility, stability, salary, they give you a lot of responsibility in the beginning, but a lot of the managers have lucked into their positions.

    Cons

cost focus to a fault, male dominated, almost like a frat, terrible office locations, declining businesses, a lot of brands have a lot of involvement from senior leadership, even the swiss.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

value the people more, focus much less on salvaging the bottom line and shift attention to growing the top line.

    Negative Outlook

    I worked at Nestlé

    Pros

Good benefits for the employees. Better benefits for supervisors and managers. Just starting to train their potential leaders. Severance packages are generous but not a fault. There was room for personal growth for those that took responsibility for it and their actions. Safety is the priority. To the point of using handrails. Leaders are given some slack to create and they are held accountable for their promises.

    Cons

Some of the KPI's are misplaced creating a silo-ed affect. Not all of the companies with Nestle USA are at the same point in their approach to leadership and quality. Frontline employee come second to management. Some frontline jobs are not up to industry standards but this is based on that companies ability to earn money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Double check your placement of KPI's. If a section of division does not perform a function they should not be responsible for the KPI.

I have been working at Nestlé

    Pros

great environment, people are nice and very easy to get along with and work with. Benefits are good, and pay is good.

    Cons

Work-life balance is ok, its hard to walk away from your work at the end of the day. you often have a lot on your plate. Corporate environment also is difficult to work in at times, as there is a lot of paper work, forms, and red tape to get through and it feels at times you are trying to jump thru hoops.
