Stop The Intern "Flood"

Team Leader (Current Employee)
Sacramento, CA

I have been working at Nestlé full-time for more than 10 years

ProsStable company in regards to finances. Good benefits and decent work life balance.

ConsAlmost 100% of promotions come from Interns. Employees with tenure are overlooked for promotion and jobs given to Interns hired for the fast track program. Nestle Purina is requiring BA degrees for all positions, even for sales reps who are basically merchandisers

Advice to Senior ManagementYour Interns are NOT the only talent to promote from. Your Interns tend not to stay to long with this company after they get that promotion. The company wants their employees to compete and often climb on their fellow employees to get that promotion

Part-time merchandiser responsible for stocking ice cream shelves.

Merchandiser (Former Employee)

I worked at Nestlé part-time for less than a year

ProsVery independent job your manager will tell you stores to every week and you drive to the store in your own car and stock the ice cream shelves without having to speak to really anyone. You pretty much get to set your own hours as long as all the stores are stocked with ice cream.

ConsJob is sometimes more difficult than it needs to be because the food stores put the Nestle product all the way in the back of the freezer, so a lot of extra work that hurts your production.
