I worked at Nestlé USA as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

I absolutely loved the experience I had with Nestle. The company values and culture truly show that Nestle is the top food and beverage company in the world. The people there are so warm and welcoming, which made it easy for me to adjust and be integrated with the team. Also the perks with regards to compensation and work-life balance aren't bad either.

    Cons

Since it is such a large company, communication can be an issue at times. Sometimes I felt unclear on certain procedures. If this happens it's good to know the right person to talk to and ask a lot of questions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep leading by example, it is very much appreciated.

I have been working at Nestlé USA full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

the only real good thing about this place has been the benefits. they are relatively inexpensive for my whole family. the only other good thing is unless you get caught talking on a cell phone while driving you can't get fired. Seriously, one driver jack knifed his truck twice last winter, has a speeding ticket and an overweight ticket, as well as tagging the bumper of a car as he made an illegal left turn and he still has a job.

    Cons

This company has no value in it's employees. There have been too many changes to occur with little to no thought given to the potential ramifications and the rumor mill is ridiculous. The company is divided between the transportation and sales teams, and the sales management looks down on the other departments. They venerate sales to the point of malicious lies and their intent is clear that transportation and warehouse are just lackey's for them and treated as second class citizens. the equipment is absolute garbage and it's no wonder the CSA scores have suffered for it. Most sales people are not getting a full 40 hour week and morale is the lowest here than any other company for which I have worked. They recently outsourced their entire transportation team to ELC, for lower pay and the terrible benefits. They also only gave employees less than a month's notice and the severance is contingent on staying through the end of the month. Not that it matters because the severance is only paid up to 6 years of service and is almost laughable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

promote from within, and start treating people with respect. Your company slogan is "Good Food, Good Life" but that must only be for the shareholders. Stop hanging carrots in front of people with your false promises and lies about potential upward mobility, there is none here.

    Pros

Great people, great background. Company run very efficiently. Minimal investments in equipment and brands translates into great profits.

    Cons

The literal musical chairs are played around with top management, same names changing titles. Diversity is almost non existent and discouraged. Values are poor, selling organization weak. Poor morale, everybody is avoiding being on the next job elimination list.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring diversity of ideas and styles, truly recognize talent (not just new hires). Build your brands don't just harvest them if the goal is to lead long term.

    Pros

The pay is good, benefits are great, and the company is strong.

    Cons

Depending on area you work in geographically the pay can be as different as $6 or higher per hour than someone working for the same company an hour away.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If they are going say that it is across all plants then it needs to be across all plants. Not just change because someone is getting their feelings hurt.

I have been working at Nestlé USA full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The culture is one of collaboration, team work and respect. People are passionate about doing what is in the best interest of the employees and the company. There is a lot of change which creates a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys continuous learning. :Leadership has realistic time frames as to when change needs to occur. I think this will keep them steady for the course. Work-life balance has been a nice change. Great Company and really great people!

    Cons

There is one opportunity that I feel needs calling out, and that is the architecture and support for the technical infrastructure. It is a very complex environment that impact what you are trying to accomplish. This is something they are working on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep embracing change and focusing on your employees. Success will continue.

I have been working at Nestlé USA full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The people are wonderful for the most part. The workplace is very laid back. The flexibility is great if you need to leave the office for an appointment. There is a company store where we can get discounted products which is a nice benefit.

    Cons

More work is given then a person can do in a day if they don't take short cuts to get things done. Morale has become so poor that only the people who have invested in too much time are sticking it out most others are looking to leave at the first viable opportunity.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value the folks who have stuck around as they are the ones holding the place together. Temps and young new grads are the ones who put in their year and a half and then take off once a better opportunity comes around.
