I have been working at Nestlé Waters North America full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

In some positions there are flexible work schedules and the culture is sensitive to family issues and work/life balance. The pay is competitive. There are many long term employees - 10, 20, 25 years of service, which says a lot about stability and workplace satisfaction. Lots of smart, talented, dedicated people work at NWNA. A wellness culture is highly promoted, giving employees an opportunity to improve their overall health.

    Cons

Management positions are entrenched with long term employees comfortable with their positions, making advancement for newer employees difficult. Although strides are being made towards more fair employee performance reviews, the process for advancement is still political and subjective. Management is struggling to meet current business challenges due to a highly competitive category. The organization is lean and has to do more with less.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue working towards more fair employee reviews and promotions. Avoid the tendency of too much centralization of leadership, culture, and ideas from Stamford. The company was built regionally and there are good ideas and leaders out in the field. Keep fighting the good fight against low cost competitors. Be more aggressive with promoting the higher margin products. Bring advertising and marketing campaigns to fruition faster and place more focus on diversity in the ads. Adopt best practices from sister Nestle companies which achieve better business results than you.

I worked at Nestlé Waters North America as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

NWNA is an amazing company with an amazing atmosphere. My internship experience was amazing everyone was so helpful and I learned so much.

    Cons

They don't have a lot of room to hire interns, so it doesn't really lead to a full time job very often unless you are lucky

I worked at Nestlé Waters North America

    Pros

Great having Nestle on your resume. Nice bonus If you hit it.

    Cons

No clear direction and zero accountability. Too many hours. Never get an update as to how the company is doing as a whole. Bonus is a mystery until you get it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of your employees instead of working them like dogs. Great product, horrible management.

    Pros

Stable category, Bottled water is growing and they have a strong portfolio. Good bonuses.

    Cons

No training, you need to learn by yourself. Mediocre middle & senior management.
Go to market strategies are a mess.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get back to basics... the company that Kim built!

I worked at Nestlé Waters North America full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

At first it was happy team atmosphere and nice bonuses. Family values.

    Cons

Kept adding to our job and started micro managing our work via handheld computers(which could be due those few who abuse the system) but it became very stressful and the job was no longer enjoyable.

I worked at Nestlé Waters North America full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good insurance, but employee contribution could be lower.

    Cons

No work-life balance, unappreciated, expendable, just a number, commission pay, leadership, equipment, etc., etc., etc.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Return to hourly pay rate and eliminate commission. Then hire quality individuals. Allow employees to dictate how to most effectively complete daily workload. Don't micro-manage. Don't waste valuable delivery time with pointless meetings. Goal should be 8 hour workday. Family first, then work. Hire supervisors that lead from example not from their office or by following their employees.

I have been working at Nestlé Waters North America full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Dynamic, open door, informal culture

    Cons

Culture is changing due to competitive pressures. Nestle is pushing for more efficiency, more shared services, more top down culture

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to show employees you are in the trenches with them. Recent job actions sent a message that Leadership was protecting themselves, not sacrificing shoulder to shoulder with the organization.

Poor Middle Management under VP level.

People leave or performance declines because of poor managers under Retail Management Team not the company they care about.
