I worked at Nestle Nutrition full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Manager, Opportunity, Half Day Fridays, Company Store, Nice People, Pension. I worked at Nestle Nutrition for approximately five years, being under the Finance umbrella my first four years were wonderful, developmental, traveled to visit the Fremont Plant and was truly proud to say I worked for Nestle.

    Cons

Depending on which group you're in, culture can be difficult. First four year of employment were great, switched to a different group (within Finance) my last year and it was a challenge, poor management, processes not in place, too many chiefs and not enough Indians type of culture. Since leaving I've landed a great opportunity at another employer, but always say Nestle as a whole took care of their people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at your middle management and provide proper training, people etiquette and professional training, some of the management is very inexperienced. Invest in your current talent and not always looks outside for new talent.

I have been working at Nestle Nutrition full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits are ok, company store discount. Good job for people who like to work alone and drive most of the day.

    Cons

Management is either looking elsewhere for new opportunities o already gone. The least picked formula in hospitals which makes job harder. Poor/lack of communication from management. Large travel area. Difficult to speak with doctors (biggest part of job).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need more mangerss and benefits to keep them from leaving.

I worked at Nestle Nutrition as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Great brands and wonderful collaborative culture. There is a more entrepreneurial feel for such a large company. Employees are encouraged to facilitate efficiency and change. Work is interesting.

    Cons

As with most large companies in this economy, staffing is lean and there is a ton of work, which can lead to work-life balance issues. This lean staffing can also create fires that otherwise could be handled in better fashion. HQ in Switzerland does have quite a bit of oversight, but not as much as other foreign owned companies where I have worked. Much more of a collarborative relationship with HQ than a controlling one.
