Current Employee – been working at NetApp full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – There are tons of smart people who work here, and lots of interesting projects. If you enjoy interesting, challenging work then NetApp is a great place to go to scratch that itch.
Cons – Increasing amounts of company politics, engineering process, braindead release management antics, and executive doublespeak.
Advice to Senior Management – If you want us to believe that NetApp is a great place to work, you have to walk the walk. You are compromising employee satisfaction for short term reduction in operating expenses. This is not a sustainable model.

Current Employee – been working at NetApp full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Great co-workers.
Friendly.
Most of the management was wonderful and quite approachable.
Great benefits.
Great pay.
Bonuses were OK, but iffy at times.
Flexible.
Work from home when needed.
Cons – Politics, Politics, Politics. It is like a Jerry Springer Episode on a daily basis there - hard to focus with all the gossip going around.
People constantly complaining
Laziness and co-workers pawning off work to others.
No accountability.
Unorganized.
Unsure of what the next change in the org was going to be - it was so random at times, it was scary to say the least.
Training was not consistent - had to beg at times or kiss up to management.
Revolving door - many come and go (wonder why?)
A lot of unhappy folks in the support organization.
Advice to Senior Management – Instead of getting rid of the good management and employees, why not get rid of the Senior management that causes the actual problem? We all know who that group of people are, and you continue to allow great talent to leave and go to competitors because of 3-4 Sr. Managers that are not only useless, but clueless. Please, save the company and the support center by removing those individuals and addressing the true backbone of the center, the support engineers. They are who a carry the org and are the front lines. Also, please stop removing the good managers just because they stick up for the good people, it is embarrassing to your company in more ways then you think. In 8 years in the center, nothing has changed, it is still going down hill. Time to re-evaluate. I said my peace.

Current Employee – been working at NetApp full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Great people at the lower levels
Interesting work
Cons – Overworked, 60+ hours/week on average

Advice to Senior Management – Reinvest in the company
Get a clue on how to plan an AOP
Give some of the $$ back to the employees

Former Employee – worked at NetApp full-time for more than a year
Pros – Great environment, lot's of learning potential if you want it. Seriously, you just need to ask. Beer and barfood Friday was a definite plus to network with other departments.
Cons – The big one, TSE's are WAY understaffed. TSE1 are just ticket openers. TSE2 first line of defense and abused. TSE3 and EE is where you want to be.
Advice to Senior Management – I would love to come back but you have an unwritten policy of just deleting former employees applications. At an actual competitive pay though.

Current Employee – been working at NetApp full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Supportive engineering management - they generally were once engineers themselves and can relate to situations and advise on "who to call for what."
Cons – Sales management - where do they get these people? After years in a thriving customer situation, they can be disruptive to the very thing that brings in their paycheck - a continuing revenue stream.
Advice to Senior Management – Give sales managers the psychopath test - they're running off great technical talent for no good reasons.

Former Employee – worked at NetApp full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – NetApp is a pretty good place to work at...great technology...great "perks" like beer and bagels on Fridays, etc.
Cons – There is no accountability for management at NetApp. All they do is shuffle senior-level managers and directors around to different jobs instead of cutting the dead weight. The idea of fixing a problem in support is just to change the seating arrangement around.
Advice to Senior Management – Get rid of some of the people who don't contribute anything apart from wrecking various organizations with half-baked ideas.

Current Employee – been working at NetApp full-time for more than a year
Pros – Great training, benefits, good company to work for overall.
Cons – Providing support sucks sometimes and answering phones gets old. It's better once you move to a vertical.

Former Employee – worked at NetApp full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – its a ok place to be, if you not in the group of nasty people
Cons – HR and management not ruling the company well. There is a lot of discrimination against foreign nationals.
Advice to Senior Management – Whoever seeking employment to NetApp be aware of couple of critics in the company. They will not let you survive. they harassed a employee and were happy when the employee quit. They did the same to the first line manager and he quit. They also harassed a previous second line manager . By doing all this they took over the manager role of the dept. The new second line is not aware of what is happening in the group. The company really sucks but boasts about for culture and work life balance. Not a place to be as HR and management is not fair to employees....
