    Pros

Many managers flexible about work schedule/commute.

    Cons

Execs flailing and not making decisions in a timely manner. Too much wasted talent/cycles planning & re-planning and waiting for next re-org. Employees losing faith and management losing credibility. Culture was what kept them afloat. No longer.

    Advice to Management

New CEO needs to get it right this time. And, no more bad outside hires.

    Pros

Very good company, well run with many nice people and good benefits, stock options, etc.

    Cons

No real cons.. occasionally teams get moved around, but that's hard to avoid with a company of this size.

With CEO leaving, there is a lot of uncertainty around the future.

Pays great, people don't do too much, not much responsibility. Paid a lot of the time to sit around and do nothing.

    Cons

Slow corporate environment. Lack of speed and decisiveness in decisionmaking. Overall could youse a managmeent shakeup.

    Pros

New CEO George Kurian is awesome, well- liked & respected, very warm & inspiring. We have an enviable product line, GREAT engineering & development, customers that love NetApp & want to see us succeed. Culture & values are strong and powerful force for good, people really LOVE this company & the respectful approach to business

    Cons

CEO Tom Georgens recently asked to step down by board, FAR too many layoffs in recent years- we lose REALLY great people. Morale is taking a hit & we have some in leadership roles that don't mirror the company culture & values...not cool

    Advice to Management

Employee listening survey- pay attention to that & utilizing the top talent you've attracted. Don't encourage or reward 'leadership' that manages UP or isn't as inclusive, collaborative as we're meant to be.

    Pros

Being a storage company is the first advantage. Storage is evolving technology. So, somewhat good place to be.
Work is neither too much nor less. They allow working from home.
I think, there is a good work life balance here.

    Cons

The teams are controlled by very old people, who just settle there as if it is a government employment (People aged above 50 as developers).
The managers give too much priority to those old people. Com'on Netapp... Get rid of them and not the young people. The young ones you fired recently were not performing because of these old people.
Horrible pay increments and bonus. At-least for the last four years.
They follow LRU algorithm for promotions... Those who got recently will only get again :-)

    Advice to Management

The very old people who knows WAFL better are treated as gods of the company.
That must be avoided. Those gods are not helping Netapp. They are helping WAFL to age well and made it a worst file system over time.
If you get rid of those gods, young people will take over and might make it better.
Your wafl is a clutter now. Find alternative or get rid of that clutter in it (not with the help of gods again)

    Pros

smart folks; good perks; company tries to focus on work-life balance
Got best companies to work for award

    Cons

not open to new ideas; not sure how it got best places to work for award -- too stuffy, never willing to listen with an open mind

    Advice to Management

Shake up old school folks, bring in fresh blood across the board, revamp and invigorate product innovation. Seek inorganic growth beyond existing products
