I worked at NetApp full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

If you find the right position and work with a honorable group this is a great place to work. I quote one of the TMEs "I love this job! It's like being retired and collecting a paycheck".

    Cons

There was no personal growth, no upward mobility, horrible salary increases, poor review processes. As an example, they use laddering to rate every person and enforce the bell curve so if you have a small team, the curve is skewed and a team of top performers could not all be ones or twos.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop the nepotism and promoting people who are the best suck-ups but not the best at their job. Look at the people who work for you and hold them accountable to NetApp's core values and walk the talk. too much lip service and not enough accountability.

NetApp's Forbes 100 top company rating standard is "very overrated". The benefits/work environment is overrated.

    Pros

Beer bashes every other week is great. If you know what you are doing management will let you do it.

    Cons

Benefits are average. Raises and Health benefits are nothing to talk about.
Company states high values especially to employees but no real action.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider your employees more especially on salary, benefits and rewards for good work.

    I worked at NetApp full-time

    Pros

Decent work life balance for certain roles. Benefits are reasonable, although declining by the year.

    Cons

Extensive politics, limited career growth opportunities. Used to be a really great place to work, now an average place to work that talks a lot about culture. Not the open culture that it claims to be, there are consequences for speaking up.
