Pros
Small company which is open to change and allow people to grow. Great product with potential for growth
Cons
Small company with possibility to be acquired
Pros
In general NetScout culture in good. If you want a stable and not looking for a lot of adventure NetScout is the company. Decent benefits and good facilities. Definitely an effort is put into taking care of employees.
Cons
Politics in some mid-level to upper level management. Not all departments or bosses are great to work with. A lot of management people have been there for a while so in some bad areas they tend to accept status quo.
Advice to Senior Management
Try to get rid of politics and fix known issues.
Pros
Good benefits, health care and 401k. Great people to work with
Cons
Slow Growth,
Less Pay, less fun activities.
Pros
Good benefits, good people to work with.
Cons
No growth, boring projects, a young high tech company with an 99 yrs old man's mentality.
Advice to Senior Management
open mind for all the ideas.
Pros
Flexible schedule
Personal relationships with management and coworkers
Cons
Departmental silos of information persist
Pros
if you have no ambitions and only like politics then you and netscout are meant for each other.................offers job security!
Cons
unethical, unprofessional, favoritism, undeserving people are promoted. Technically unsound people are supervisors/leads (keep in mind this is a product company). Work DOES NOT get distributed based on aptitude and technical knowledge. Technically incompetent people work on core modules and highly skilled and competent people are working on not-so-important less challenging modules.I believe every company has what i mentioned to some extent, BUT netscout is just about this and only about this. MOST of the people at netscout agree to what I mentioned here, genuine people have become stagnant here and the incompetent people are enjoying their luck
Advice to Senior Management
netscout needs 180 degree change, a mule cannot do a horses job and a horse cannot do a mules job. Change people working on the core modules and promote the right people. Horses have been quitting but no action is been taken ever.
Pros
At the time, NetScout had a really GOOD full line of products and offered solutions that were reliable and had good 'up' time.
Cons
MANAGEMENT. Upper Management did not take an interest in the 'do-ers'. They were only interested in 'numbers' and what Mid-Management reported back to them, which was NOT always acccurate. If Mid-Management did not like you for some reason or another, you were doomed.
Advice to Senior Management
Become more involved/aware of what your appointed Mid-Levl Managers are about...especially, thei true views and feelings on diversity. NetScout on the outside appears to have happy employees...they do not!
Pros
-Leading products,
-Financial strength,
-Space for personal initiative,
-Benefits package.
Cons
-lean structure means less career opportunities,
-company culture not uniform accross territories,
-mission not communicated very effectively,
-improving marketing still weak on communicating USP's
Pros
Stable place to work
Long term employees
Work life balance
Allows work from home and remote office
Product is good
Cons
Could put more emphasis on new ideas
Get some innovative leadership in place at exec levels
collaboration and leadership management training for all
Advice to Senior Management
focus on creating awareness of product more and more in market place and dont just count on few customers. Accelerate growth and reward new ideas.
Pros
The company has some really great technology, and a lot of very knowledgable people who are also willing to share their experise.
Cons
The Network General acquisition from a product standpoint is pretty much completed. However, from a people perspective, there is still an us and them mentality.
Advice to Senior Management
The company has many things going for it and is poised for steady growth over the next couple years. One piece of advice for improving the workplace - don't tolerate micromanagement.
