Pros
Many smart people, very open to ideas. Willing to banter about ideas. Some good experiences at the water cooler talking about projects. There's always something interesting happening.
The product is supreme. It really is. But it's limited and there's much good work to be done building out the feature-set - happening at lightening speed. Very energetic. Very "exciting" which is not the cliche term it could be. They're for real.
Cons
Development can be a bit chaotic as forces work themselves but all small companies pivot on a dime.
Advice to Senior Management
Tend to hesitate a hair too long before making decisions.
Pros
the people there are fantastic...real humans, made many friends
many of sr. managers are true leaders
pizza every friday
Social events where well done especially in support department!
management kept people in the loop moreso than I have seen anywhere else
people were respected
Cons
many, many long hours at the time but that was pre-ipo, stock should be in a better place if not for market
need to change up from only pizza on fridays ;)
Advice to Senior Management
remember it is the people who work there that make it what it is
Pros
Great place to work, people were fair, you were well treated and the work was fun.
The product was very good and the team was very well organized and managed.
The company culture was excellent and if I did not have to relocate, I would not have left Netezza. I'm certain that in a couple of years, with the market recovery, the stock will do very well.
Cons
Long hours, some people were "special" but thankfully they left.
The sales team tended to be a little less technical than I would have liked and some times they ended up making meaningless commitments.
Advice to Senior Management
Great job, keep it up
