    Pros

Great learning experience for a first sales job. Very solid sales model/cycle. Good opportunity to utilize inside and outside sales techniques.

    Cons

Pressure to force sales and pretty minimal salary

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Move away from consistently putting reps on the chopping block. Not a positive or productive tactic.

    Pros

Being able to Work from home

    Cons

Significantly underpaid for both the job done and the certifications held, unrealistic hours, travel is poorly executed. Sales people will sell a class they have no material for and expect an instructor to travel on site, create a curriculum, and come up with materials working 20 hour days in an unfamiliar environment. Only excuse offered for not increasing salary, "we weren't profitable." Sounds like leadership needs to be fired if they can't be profitable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay people. Pay exceptional people. Stop using the crap educational material that does not teach students the correct information about certifications.

    Pros

    None. Zero, Zilch, Nada, Nothing!

    Cons

Few if any new reps. who get hired survive. It's like a 99% turn-over rate.

    Pay is lousy

When you train, you hear from the other reps who have been there a long time how no new hires make it.

Imagine you just start a new job and you hear that.

There was a function and I was sitting at a table and this was shortly after I got hired and I heard a rep who had been there a long time who said the following: she does not bother to be friendly to any of the new sales reps because she knows they won't be around long.

All of the older reps are working accounts that were set up a long time ago but the new reps have to get new accounts and it's nearly impossible given the horrendous prospecting lists that are given.

They have you calling funeral parlors, pizza parlors to sell IT training? Does that make any sense? NO.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer something to the new reps to help them get new business besides just a phone and a desk. You have to have some type of better marketing plan.

You are just using these people and know most of them can't succeed not due to their skills but due to your lack of support and having a marketing plan that works.

Shame on you management for using people this way and not doing right by them.

I worked at New Horizons Computer Learning Centers full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Great people to work with (except management), the instructors were first class.

    Cons

The AE's who have been with the company for 1 year plus had all the good
accounts. New salespeople got what was left. Very high turnover in sales
department, saw people come and go every other week. They keep the
pressure on you. If you are an instructor you might have better luck.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make it more fair for the newer AE's coming into the company.
