I worked at New York Athletic Club full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

All customers in the country club are so polite, patient and well behaved.
The stuff is very friendly and helpful.
Can chose how many hours you want to work as a pro, there is no regular hours, so basically you chose your own schedule. Of course, the more hours you work, the more $ you get.
There are a lot of hours to work if you are willing to make money during the summer as a tennis pro.

    Cons

High level customers sometimes cancel the lessons and you don't get paid for it.
More freedom of decision making and running the practice could be given

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust their pros on what they are doing and give more freedom in organizing the clinics.

    Pros

Well structured daily and weekly scheduling - managers are flexible and work with you.

    Cons

Promotions and wage increases are rare and minor at that. I have been at the company for several years and my wages never increased even after graduating college.

Offer long term employees more benefits and annual wage adjustments.

    Pros

Both management and members are a pleasure to work with in the most beautiful atmosphere in NY. A variety of positions and staff seems happy to work there.

    Cons

Transportation in the area can be a challenge due to the busy area it is located in New York City, but other than that, not many cons at all.
